Tax write offs...
So, you're allowed to write off hair products and services, make-up, clothes... all the basic stuff. What are some things that one may not normally think to claim that you can get a write-off/claim for?
In the Naked Truth forum, someone mentioned 50% of food? Anyone have more info on that?

Re: Tax write offs...
there's a ton of older threads on this subject. Try using the 'search' function link (on the purple bar) with keywords like 'deduction'.
In general, you can deduct basic stuff as long as it passes the 'housewife test'. In other words, anything that you write off needs to be for business purposes ... but if it is something that a 'housewife' would also buy without any business purpose the IRS may question the deduction. Thus you can write off a spandex dress but not a bikini - you can write off theatrical makeup but not department store makeup etc.
The 50% deduction for food only applies if you are 'travelling on business' ... which means that the place that you are working must be far enough away from 'home' to require you to book a motel room. Working at a local club and returning 'home' after the club closes does not constitute business travel.
