Ebay experts, can you help me with this ebay/paypal problem?
On the 10th, I bought two items on ebay using the buy it now feature and immediately payed via paypal. Paypal lists the transaction as complete, I've received an email receipt for my payment, and my bank statement shows the funds have been withdrawn as of the 12th. Seller contacted me on the 13th to "remind me to pay" and I actually called him and thought we had resolved the "problem." This morning the seller emails me to say that the transaction is incomplete on his end. He's communicating with me using the same email addy that I sent the money to. This is the first time I've ever encountered this kind of issue and I don't really know how to proceed. Should I contact paypal? What could possibly be the problem on his end? What would you do in this situation? I want my Redken Shades EQ dammit!

IF paypal shows the transaction complete, and the funds are out of your account...show him that. Contact paypal and ask why the funds taken fromyou have not gotten to him.
If the money is out of your account..he has it. He just cant figure that out apparently,. but paypal wouldnt take the money out of your account without putting it in his paypal account.
Forward your reciept(blacking out any personal info of yours of course) and tell him that payment has gone through and you expect your item to be shipped.

I already did that this morning. He's asked me to call him again because he wants to ship my stuff to me. This just doesn't make any sense. He's got over 750 ratings with a feedback score of 99.99%. Why is my transaction the problem child? Does paypal have a means of me asking general questions or do I need to file a dispute? I could only find a "file a dispute" button.

yeah, everything has gone thru on my end...the lady at paypal said she's going to email him telling him how to get his money ::) but this is just weird...such an established seller should KNOW how to get his money, ya know?

Yeah he should, but maybe he is new to paypal? Maybe he only accepted checks and money orders before? Or maybe there was just a glitch on hs end.
Either way..looks like it will be fixed. Good luck!
Re: Ebay experts, can you help me with this ebay/paypal problem?
believe it or not, he might just have to "accept" the money. This happened once with me with a seller and he just didn't understand either (he's been selling for a while also.) Sometimes this happens even though they are used to automatic deposit.
Re: Ebay experts, can you help me with this ebay/paypal problem?
hmmm...that's probably it. Thanks for your help, girlies I'll let you know how it turns out. :)
Re: Ebay experts, can you help me with this ebay/paypal problem?
do that... if anything you can refund it yourself and then send it back to him, only takes about a day. I know you want the stuff sent out, so def. call the company to see what's up.
Makes no sense since it says the money has been removed from your account. Hope he's not being a dope dope and looking at someone else's info. It does sauy in ebay that the item has been paid for, right?
Re: Ebay experts, can you help me with this ebay/paypal problem?
I finally did manually mark it as paid, maybe that was the problem I don't know.
Re: Ebay experts, can you help me with this ebay/paypal problem?
woah... no, that would have nothing to do with it. If you paid with paypal and you went through ebay, ebay automatically marks as paid. It's when you don't go though ebay for paypal check out or need to send out the money by mail that you would mark as paid IF the seller hadn't done so.
Ebay doesn't really hav much to with paypal except to remember what you bought. Paypal is a dif. system, more like a chekcing account than an auction site.
The fact that ebay didn't know that you had sent the money out prob means there IS a glitch. Since the money is already out of your account, the seller needs to figure out what is happening on his side.
hope it all works out.
Re: Ebay experts, can you help me with this ebay/paypal problem?
as far as being marked as paid, this is what happened. You know how when you buy multiple items from one seller ebay lumps them together in your myebay? Like there's a main listing with each seperate listing below that? Well, I paid using pay now (thru ebay) on one of the items, which brought me to paypal, which listed the full $ amount including shipping, so I paid. The two sub-items were marked as paid while the main "combined" heading wasn't marked. God, I'm confusing myself now even.
Re: Ebay experts, can you help me with this ebay/paypal problem?
^ That probably caused the confusion. Hense the seller saying it was only partially paid for..I bet it'll work out before the day is up.
Re: Ebay experts, can you help me with this ebay/paypal problem?
update: apparently because I use two different email addys for ebay and paypal, the software he uses to manage his store wasn't recognizing that I had paid. Account Manager or Pro or something like that. Thanks for the replies :)
