Need help figuring out a test score---PLEASE!
Ok, so I got a score of 101/150 on a test that had 30 questions. I'll find out the answer to this tomorrow in class, but what does that mean my grade is? Ironically, this was a math class.;D
I left the test thinking I missed four questions. The rest I really swear I had right. The only thing that would make sense out of this score is if they had a curve or something.
Yes, I know this question makes me sound stooopid, but I don't care. I'm dying to know how I did on this test!!
Re: Need help figuring out a test score---PLEASE!
101/150 is like 67.3%, but I don't understand your question. Maybe I ought to take a math class! If you only missed four questions out of thirty the score should be like 86.6% ..
Re: Need help figuring out a test score---PLEASE!
Well, are you asking what your percentage of correct answers was? Because the answer is 67.3%. You just divide 101 by 150. Or, if you want to get fancy, set up a proportion:
101/150 = x/100
10,100 = 150x
x= 67.333333333
And you got 20 questions right with partial credit on a 21st question, or some sort of similar breakdown:
150 possible points/30 questions = 5 pts. each
101, your score, /5 points each = 20.2 questions answered correctly
Make sense?
Re: Need help figuring out a test score---PLEASE!
If all of the questions were equally weighted, they were each worth 5 points. I'm assuming this was not a scantron exam and you could receive partial credit for individual problems? Your grade is 67%. Maybe what happened is that even if you came up with the correct final answer, points were deducted for not showing specific steps?
Re: Need help figuring out a test score---PLEASE!
I know how to do percentages, that's not what I was asking. I think this test was scored differently than other ones we have had. If it is scored anything like the rest then I think my grade is 101, meaning A.
And now that I think about it there might have been more than 30 q's on the test. I think I'll just wait until noon tomorrow and find out, lol. I'm so impatient!
I think my score was around 87%. She told us something about there being a curve, so I can't imagine that I did that poorly on a test I felt so confident about. I hate when they give an oddly weighted score like that with no explanation.
