And for your bonus question, fill in the blank:
Joe Torre will be ___________ next year.
Rockies in 5.
Joe Torre will be retired next year. Red Sox already have a good manager. Heh!
Sox in 4.
Joe Torre will be unemployed next year
Rockies in 6. Although, I'm hoping the humidor breaks for 1 game just to see how far ManRam could hit one.
Joe Torre will be sticking it to Steinbrenner by managing the Mets to a world title next year. Or watching sunsets over Kapalua Bay from his lanai.
Rockies in 4!!! It would be a nice way to cap this run off.
Red Sox in Seven. In an unprecedented event, a freak snowstorm will engulf Fenway Park just after the Sox score the go-ahead run in the bottom of the eight inning of game seven. Joe Morgan, former Red Sox manager and one-time snow plow driver, will be rushed by state police escort to Fenway park. He will rev-up a snow cat and clear the mound and home plate area of snow so that Jonathan Papelbon can come in and strike out the side in the top of the ninth.
Joe Torre will be a baseball analyst next year...
Six-two-and-even boys....
Sox in 6. Torre will be dead next year, assassinated by a vengeful fan who wanted it in 5.
Sox in 6. Joe Torre will be a TV analyst next year, most likely with TBS. He just turned down Fox to do the World Series.
let's see....the Pats, besides putting up scores like they're playing JV teams, have a chance to go undefeated. BC is the No.2 college footabll team in the nation and the Sox are in the WS. what curse? i hope the Sox get swept, but they'll probably win it in 6.
oh yeah, Joe Torre has already checked himself into a psychiatric facility where it will takes years of treatment to undo the psychological damage of George Steinbrenner.
if anyone can discover what that means. they should get a Nobel.
Rockies in six, because that's the game I was able to get tickets for (sometimes, it's good to have friends in Massivetwoshits). Joe will be coaching in Cleveland...
No Idea what it means but it's part of a long run of inane banter from Red Sox managers of the past..../:O

I voted for Armageddon cause Id prefer that than another Sox WS win. I guess the rockies winning may be better than the end of the world but thats not quite as dramatic. ( I went to college in the Boston area and developed a real distaste for Boston teams thanks to the Globe..aarrgh)
Joe Torre will manage the Baltimore Orioles only to discover a worse owner than Steinbrenner but without all the money. He will be fired after one season and retire baking cookies and making baseball bat shaped donuts that he sells at his local church's bazaars.
Interesting POV, Globe Schmobe, I used to read it every day but I recovered...I just watch the games.
By the way, as I was watching endless video of the Rockies play off wins so far I noticed a glaring deficiency among these young men; None of them, not one, have any idea how to give real honest-to-goodness man hug! I mean seriously, watch these guys, they are dong some sort of homophobic prance around each other without actually touching...it's just weird...
Surreal convo of the week...
Royce Clayton: You said if somebody steals a base in the World Series...
Coco Crisp: The first time somebody steals a base... Taco Bell is gonna give one taco... to everybody in America.
Royce: To everybody here?
Coco: In America.
Royce: That day?
Coco: I dunno... ::laughs, mumbles something unintelligible::
Royce: What the hell you talkin' bout? It's gotta be that day.
Coco: But there's only like two hours left in the day at that point.
Royce: So what? That's what the deal has to be. How you gonna come in and say, "I ain't got my taco!" You could go to every Taco Bell in the world and say that. "I didn't get my taco!" How they gonna know?
[It will actually be October 30, 2-5 pm, at any Taco Bell, probably thanks to Jacoby Ellsbury]
Jacoby "Taco" Ellsbury. :)
Sox in 4 it is
Not that it would have mattered, but SOMEBODY should have told the Rockie's fans that waving white towels means that you surrender...
^^ I think they knew, Yoda. I. Think. They. Knew.
Sure. Although what I've heard about the ownership is encouraging if you're a Sox fan. In any case, congrats to the Sox and all their fans.
And, it certainly was fun in Colorado while it lasted. I'm willing to believe that the Rockies will use this as a learning experience. They do have a way to go to beat the likes of the Sox, even if they are light years from where they started.
One more thought. Maybe next year, I can convince a friend or two to take off an afternoon or two occasionally for a visit to Blake Street. (Perhaps followed by a visit to a favorite SC!) Any takers? Or are you all fair weather fans and will wait for the record to rise significantly over .500??
One of those baseball games was on at a club my friends and I went to Saturday night. One of my friends was obsessed with watching it. I was obsessed with the sexy cop girls, fairies, naughty nurses, and other assorted cliched sex symbols that young hot girls were parading before my eyes for the bar's Halloween party. Funny how every hot girl's costime somehow required a mini-skirt, thigh-highs and a garter belt.
Ahhh Halloween. National dress up like a hooker day. I love it.
Okay, thread de-rail over. Go back to your talk of grown men playing grab ass in a park for a living.
They probably all secretly wish they were hookers. Just like all (well, perhaps many) little boys secretly wish they could play grab ass on national TV when they grow up, too. Saturday night we were at a very subdued non-costume party at a friend's house playing a very boring game of politics while the Rockies lost. That night my club was having an erotic costume competition. Damn!
I want to thank the Cleveland Indians for their part in knocking the Yankees out of contention for the next five years. :)
