Loss of Nipple+Breast Sensitivity & Inability to Breast Feed?YIKES
How common is this with women with breast implants? I am looking for specific
info on the net right now, just wanted to know what you girls thought about this.
I am planning on getting breast aug.very, very soon and will also have a fibro adenoma removed during the breast aug.surgery because I am going to loose
significant breast volume from it. I am vain and do not want one boob
smaller than the other ya know.
I saw two surgeons all ready and plan on seeing the third on Nov.1st.
I got the Mentor Memory Gel Silicone handbook and it FREAKED me
out once I read it.
ESP.the parts about loss of nipple and breast sensitivity and inabily to breast
feed after getting implants put in.
Both docs said I need a donut lift and I guess that makes it possibly worse
in the terms of loosing sensitivity.
How common is this?
Sorry questions questions I am freaking out.:-X

My BA has not interfered with my ability to breastfeed my baby. My boobs and nipples also have the same feeling they have always had.

My doctor said that unless you go with some type of nipple incision, there is no change is whether or not you can breast feed. You do risk losing sensation though. I currently (4 months out) have nipple feeling but nothing below that.

I am recommended to get the donut lift, which goes all the way around the nipple.
=/ Eek. I don't know what to do.I am seeing one more doc on Thurs.
Glamazon what type of incision did you have?

Mine went in through my armpit.

My incision was under the crease and I did lose some breast sensitivity on my under-boob. Luckily it came back after about 3-4 months. This is very common, and in most cases the nerves do grow back so the loss of sensation is unlikely to be permanent.
As for the ability to breast feed, that depends on your surgery. With a typical under the muscle or under the natural breast tissue implant procedure, its pretty rare that feeding would be affected. However, a lift is more invasive so the odds, while still rare, are a little higher.
