Oh paige... i am so sorry. that's absolutely awful to have to choose physical well-being or emotional/educational well-being... and all because a stupid insurance company is being lazy and cheap. we've had fairly good luck with aetna in terms of coverage, but the prices were yes, ridiculous. we've switched as well. ("we" being my fam. back in rochester.)
i agree with the bad press option. no insurance company likes to see their name in the news in a bad light.... and this is not a good case, or so it sounds. keep at it, girl! don't give up! bombard them with letters! visit the local headquarters, film it, etc.... keep track of the denials and fucking PUBLISH.

For a job that often has excellent health benefits, I recommend a government job. I just spoke to a friend of mine who is about to go into rehab EASILY for the 8-10th time. The gov. job benefits he has just keep paying for it even though he relapses every few months. He has been there for a while though. Not sure if its a State or Federal position....
