The Return of Superfly/The King of Bling
In preparation for this weekend's opening of "American Gangster," I Googled and read , a New York Magazine (May 2005) article, for some insights. IMO, the life of Frank Lucas should stimulate America's ongoing preoccupation with charismatic sociopaths. I'm excited that Denzel Washington, Russell Crowe and Ridley Scott are collaborating on what should be a multiple nominee come Golden G./Oscar season.
Next, I'd like to see a movie about the rise and fall of Manhattan's hip-hop icon , who was arrested in 2006 with others and accused of conspiring to launder about $270 million in drug profits for the "Black Mafia Family," a ring that operated out of the Detroit area beginning in the early 1990s. He copped a plea to the charges yesterday and should soon be seeing bars instead of stars.

Well, I'm seeing the movie tomorrow if I can fit it in moy schedule..If not theres always the weekend..I had no idea, Jacob the Jeweler was arrested, it's so easy to get caught up in greed though. I hadn't heard his name as much..but, never woukd've figured he was in the big house.
Have you seen Halle's movie ?

No, Farrah, I haven't seen "Things We Lost In The Fire," but I've read some . Halle Berry typically makes me drool and Benicio Del Toro rarely disappoints, so I'll see that movie on general principle... ;)
