Eye make-up to make my eyes look better?
Used to look great in black and dark browns.
These days (and as we get older) they say lighten up on the eyes some.
I don't know how. I was never any good at make-up. I want my eyes to pop out and look sexy, be seen. But not over-done it looks bad on me now.
My eyes are green and blue, very light when you look at me.
I need eye make-up that does not age me.
HELP

Re: Eye make-up to make my eyes look better?
Pamela,
You and I have similar coloring. Blonde hair, blue green eyes. I have seen you mention not tanning anymore. I'm pale, pale, pale. What works for me is bone or very pale neutral eyeshadow from lashline to browline. I use a darker taupe or brownish color in the crease. For day time, I do liquid eyeliner on the upper lid only with black mascara. At night, I'll add the finest line of smudgy black or grey pencil liner to my lower lashes as well. Very neutral, but with some definition. It works for me, anyway.

Hmm i am trying to picture it..would you have a picture to put up of a blonde with light eyes and older woman, not 20's. As i age, make-up that used to work is not now! :'( I need to lighten up, but be seen around the eyes

Re: Eye make-up to make my eyes look better?
What about Gold or peachy colors? I would do a neutral base from lash to brow line, and then use a little gold or peachy on the corners. I use this technique on my mom who is approching 50, has blue eyes, light hair, and her eyes still pop. Also, finish it off with a brown mascara coat followed by a coat of blue mascara. I know it sounds weird, but the color combo is amazing, and the blue makes the whites of your eyes stand out.

Bronzes, golds, coppery colors. Blues. Taupes. Soft brown colors. Oranges and peaches. All of these colors can be paired with a pale lip.
White liner on the lower waterline of your eye. ( if you can stand it ) also faux eye lashes, a very thin line of eye liner and just a tiny touch of black shadow in the corner of your eye. I use black tied from MAC for this.
It looks very sophisticated and elegant.
Plus just a touch of some nude or neutral colored shimmery shadow in the inner of your eye, top lid - right above the tear duct. Also a light blue color works well for this for bluish-greeny eyes. Really makes your eyes pop and look blue.
Blue mascara.
Brown eye liner, perferably not a dark brown. Milk chocolate color.
Blue liner on the inside waterlines of your eye, once again if you can stand it. This is my favorite thing to do to make my blue eyes look startlingly blue
People always ask me if I wear contacts when I do that. :)
Hope this helps!

Me too! I got the idea from pictures of Princess Diana.

Re: Eye make-up to make my eyes look better?
The aging thing is getting to me too. We're the exact opposite though when it comes to hair, eye, and skin color. But one day I looked in the mirror and realized that the way I had always done my eye makeup was making me look older than dirt lol. I found a perfect eye look in this thread: http://www.stripperweb.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=101780
It was with the same colors I have been using but applied differently. Check through there for your eye color and experiment. I had been putting charcoal color in the crease and then a red/purplish color on the base of my lid and then a really light shade on the brow bone but recently switched to the really light shade on the base of my lid and then charcoal in the crease and the red above the charcoal and that has made a HUGE difference.

Re: Eye make-up to make my eyes look better?
Oh, and stay away from creme eye shadows as it tends to set in fine lines and make them more noticible.
A nice royal blue will do wonders for your eyes!

Re: Eye make-up to make my eyes look better?
You ladies are fuckin awesome!!!!!!
I suck at make-up, always have....and now i feel i am finally getting help. No more dark lights working clubs, so i am out in bright lights...now it really has to look good. :)

Re: Eye make-up to make my eyes look better?
Yes, pale blue - the lighter the better. For liner make it as dark blue as you can find. It REALLY makes any blue eyes go POW.
Plus a white liner on the lower waterline makes any eye open up and look really big. :)
Also, frost eye shadow colors wrinkle any lines you may have on eye skin, so use in teeny tiny amounts.

Re: Eye make-up to make my eyes look better?
I 2nd the white liner on the lower waterline, it really makes them POP! I do it every day for my office job and it's so subtle that no one notices. Makeup is so much fun and once you start learning all the tricks it's hard to stop playing with it.

Re: Eye make-up to make my eyes look better?
Ok this is going to sound stupid, but what is the waterline near my eyes?
The rim inside my lower lids or outside? Or is it the corner only of my eyes. I went out and bought white and lights blues, and 1 dark blue so far!!! YAY!

Re: Eye make-up to make my eyes look better?
Waterline is the line around your eyelashes where you have to apply makeup very delicately in case you get stuff in your eye.
I'm watching this thread, too... I have the same eyes and coloring.

Exactly. I wouldn't put any eyeliner under that mark or it will sit into fine lines. I used a "smudge brush" which is a pointed spongey type brush to help blend the eyeliner so the lines are subtle and not harsh. The more natural your makeup looks, the younger you will look.
Have playing with your new colors, my life changed the day I found blue mascara!

Re: Eye make-up to make my eyes look better?
I wear a lot of light greens/yellows. I can't wear yellow clothes, but around my eyes it looks nice in the day. A more dramatic look is a rust-looking pigment (mac pigment) that shimmers copper-blue-red... depending on how much you put on the brush, you can control what tone it takes. An interesting night look.

Got it! I went and bought some lighter colours today and again tonite. Gold is not looking so hot, light blue is looking good. To go around my waterline what colours will show and look great on blonde hair and light eyes! Just white? I see the white in the corner of my eye and it looks good, but all the way around looks tacky????

Re: Eye make-up to make my eyes look better?
^^ eesh, i try to stay away from white... a girl at my work has this same coloring and always uses white- I tend to think it looks more carnival than alluring. i've actually lined my eyes in green and blue before using a very thin, fine brush.... whichever color I use brings out more of the same in the eye itself.
Lavenders/pinks are very pretty, too... as is the coppery/blue rust I mentioned.

Re: Eye make-up to make my eyes look better?
The white liner should be applied on the bottom water line. Sometimes I line the inside corners of my eyes with white as well. It's super subtle on fair skin but can pack a big punch. Try lining the top one with a little blue.

Re: Eye make-up to make my eyes look better?
Damn i have been playing with this make-up while trying to do work, they don't mix...lol.
Yea the white can be harsh i notice. But i am staying with lighter colours they look good. Blue mascara you say? What about a light brown too? The blue looked very bright under my light in the mirror, kinda not natural...

The blue mascara kinda looks un-natural? What about a light brown mascara?
When done i will get a pic. up!!!! /:O

Re: Eye make-up to make my eyes look better?
Black mascara.
This sounds really weird, but do one coat of black and then do another coat of blue. Not so harsh.
For liner, if you don't like the white, use copper. It is excellent for blue eyes.
if your going for a plain look, use the black mascara and a deep, dark blue liner.
I can't live without fake eyelashes, for daytime I use the wispy brown ones. At night or when I'm working I use any lashes that are longer at the outer corner of the eye. That gives you a nice cat eye look with liner and shadow.
