extreme fatigue hits me out of nowhere
what the hell? i get enough sleep, i take my vitamins and eat well for the most part. i'll be doing something, and then BAM i could go to sleep right there. it hits me out of nowhere, at totally different times. i get 6-7 hours of sleep before my internship, and i'm fine, and then a few hours in i'm struggling to keep my eyes open. the same thing happens at work sometimes. today, i slept til 12 and then got up, ate, and was doing tae bo and all of a sudden my energy just dropped and i could go to sleep.
any ideas what's going on?

Re: extreme fatigue hits me out of nowhere
For me, 6-7 hours is not enough. I can barely make it with 8 hours. Maybe you need more sleep, you just don't realize it?
Start eating more fruit and drinking alot of fruit juice. I notice a BIG difference in my energy level when I increase my fruit intake.
Do you exercise enough? If not, maybe you're not keeping physically in shape.

Re: extreme fatigue hits me out of nowhere
I get that way too from time to time. But I had mono twice this year also. Get yourself some more rest. Lack of rest and stress can wear you down. Sometimes your body just needs more rest than you have time to give it. Listen to your body and if you continue to feel tired in a month I'd get some bloodwork done.

Re: extreme fatigue hits me out of nowhere
It's recommended that females get at least 8-9 hours of sleep a night. Men only need 6-7.

Narcolepsy? Depression? Could also be what you're eating. Certain foods give you small amounts of energy but cause that energy drop later. Like sugar. Check out your diet, and you may also want to see a doc about it, babe.

Re: extreme fatigue hits me out of nowhere
well as for the amount of sleep sometimes i wake up naturally and im still tired. even on the days i get to sleep in i get like that. today i woke up naturally and couldnt sleep any longer and i was still ready to pass out a few hours later.

What's your blood sugar level? Been checked for diabetes recently?
-
Re: extreme fatigue hits me out of nowhere
Maybe you have something like a thyroid imbalance or something? Or low B12 levels?
-
Re: extreme fatigue hits me out of nowhere
Do you find you feel less fatigued after eating? Then I'd say blood sugar related.
So many things can make you fatigued though (like, almost all diseases...) so you really want to get this checked out soon.

^ no. eating doesnt help. :(
great, i probably have some disease. i dont want there to be something wrong with me!

Re: extreme fatigue hits me out of nowhere
Just get your blood tested. Next time you get super tired try having a roll or piece of bread. It always worked for me when I had those problems. It might be a very faint blood-sugar problem you're just not noticing at first. Make sure you're not drinking too much caffeine in the morning. I found having caffiene to 'wake up' is silly as you're already awake! It just crashes you sooner. So I have caffeine to pick me up, usually around 6-6:30pm, before work, after most of my shopping.

Are you sleeping 6-7 hours per night regularly? If so, that's just not enough, especially if your under 25 and your body is still morphing into womanhood. Your body is probably trying to play catch up.

Re: extreme fatigue hits me out of nowhere
Well, I still just say you get your blood tested anyway. Peace of mind.

Even so, you need to aim for 8-9 every night, not just some. If it's not consistant your body gets confused and doesn't 'run' as efficiently'.

thats not possible right now. in a perfect world...
but i could understand that making me tired, but it doesnt explain the fact that all of a sudden it just hits me and i could fall asleep in the middle of whatever im doing.

Re: extreme fatigue hits me out of nowhere
Oh my god, I have been experiencing the same thing but I am tired and dizzy and my sight goes a bit blurry all the time, (Do you also get bad circulation and your body goes a bit numb? your hands and feet feel like there are always pins and needles?) It might be that your iron levels are down or your blood sugar level is down, I have no idea whats wrong with me either! :(

Re: extreme fatigue hits me out of nowhere
Get a metabolic panel done to rule out any serious medical conditions.
Or could it be possible that you have mono?
