WD-40, scrub the area, and then wash the area with dishsoap to get rid of the greasy look
This forum is a fucking wealth of information.
Oh Oh Oh - raises hand - I KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How to get wax out of ANYTHING
Put a rag/old towel over where the crayon is. Put a hot iron over it. The iron will melt the wax and it will lift onto the towel. Ive done this many times to get wax out of carpet when it melted over....
Hehehe, thanks for reminding me why I don't have kids yet :D
which is the reason I love it here.
I'm sure that little gem is going to come in handy in a couple of years.
mayyyyve be the wax looooooookes nicd e anc it should sve be a nwe decoration
Thanks ladies,
I have to say this was not for me but for the gal I work with. She took her daughter to a corn maze and she was give a crayon to write down clues along the way. Anyhow, it ended up in her pocket and into the wash it went. Since she lives nearby she took me to her house during lunch to show me the damage.
Good lord, what a mess.
G left a couple of "cool rocks" in his pocket once. What a racket that made when it went into the dryer.
Watch out when trying this on your carpet.
When I was a church janitor, getting melted wax fromthe candles out of the carpet was a weekly thing. I did the thing with the iron, except I used newspaper instead of an old rag.
Then, they got new carpet. Same thing, wax on the carpet. So, I did the same trick with the iron, and....melted the carpet!
So, test your carpet before you use an iron on it!
You'll be able to get the wax out, but not the color.
That's how we used to do faux-batik in art class. Melt crayons and paint them onto fabric and then iron off the wax.
at first glance i thought the thread's title might make for a good band name--an elementary school-aged band.
^^ I loved ALL your posts that day. I was stalking your posts and giggling...
