Best website for buying robes
These guys make custom robes - any robe (and a lot of other garments) you see can be made with the fabric of your choice (mesh, velvet, metallic...), and their prices are pretty reasonable.
I just received my new one, and I am very happy with both the quality and the look. The site is "www.hourglassfashions.net."
The site that comes up is not the one for the robes, so click on "Formal Gowns" and look for either the "long robes" or the "short robes" tab. You can see fabric choices by going to "Policies," then clicking on "to see our fabric selection...". It's a little hard to find, which is why I am mentioning this:)
I don't know about your part of the world, but I have always had the worst time finding classy robes, so I hope this helps at least some of you }:D !
Re: Best website for buying robes
That makes it a little easier. They have some cute stuff but WAY over priced IMO.
Re: Best website for buying robes
Thank you both! Bookmarked it.
Re: Best website for buying robes
Theres all kinds of stuff for work - short sets, dresses, gowns, corsets.
What I dont like is they should have pics of ALL the outfits on both larger and smaller girls. Most are only shown on larger women (even tho they come in smaller sizes) and vice verse....there are only a few shown on both.
Re: Best website for buying robes
on the one hand it's cool that they have some plus size models, but on the other-- there's way better pictures that can be taken of a plus size model.

Not only that. Most plus sized models are like a size 10/12 which isnt really plus sized so its rare to see women that really ARE plus sized. I agree the pics are not so fab.
Re: Best website for buying robes
^ i thought the same thing.
Uhmmm.... these are really beautiful, and because i work in a place where mesh wraps/robes are huge, could be very useful.. however, they are EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE!!!!!! Now, I don't mind shelling out the $$ for something worth it, but I've found robes/open dresses elsewhere for much, much less....
Re: Best website for buying robes
^ Where are the sites Collette? Share them please. I have to buy a few robes since working in the freezing cold Upper Midwest without robes is impossible for me.
Re: Best website for buying robes
fredericks' has some, and flirt has 2 pages worth... the long ones are a little cheaper than ^^, and the short ones most definitely are.
Re: Best website for buying robes
They are expensive for some of the robes, I agree. What I liked about them was
a) The possibility of having stuff custom-made; and
b) I was looking for one particular style of robe, i.e. frog clasp in front, not a tie. For some reason they don't really sell those anymore in the stores (or maybe that's just the case in Oregon:)). I had one that got stolen that I LOVED, and it was almost impossible to find a new one that doesn't tie.
I do think they need to make it a little more clear that all styles of robes & some other stuff can be customized, and the pictures could be a little better, but other than that it's a pretty cool site.
