Ok, I'm on Amazon looking at reviews of. I'd like a general multi-purpose one, both hand held & auto. No fancy stuff, or high priced, but dont want crappy one, or difficult to understand, either. What's YOUR opinion? Thanks:)

B got me this one with all the fixings for Christmas last year, and it changed my life! ;D I have zero sense of direction, and gave up on ever developing one a long time ago.

It works on the 3 satellite system and does not have a compass. I attach it to my windshield, my friends' windshields, my rental cars etc. and carry it in my purse in new or unfamiliar territories. It was easy for me to learn to use. The software can be updated. You can charge it, or just plug it in your car's power supply/lighter.
I don't know what you consider expensive. I do think this was well worth his investment. No more panicky calls from me lost in Detroit at all hours of the night, no more mapquest, no more missed appointments cause I couldn't find my way there, and lots more adventures.
Go to any electronics store and play with the gps units on display. The garmin c330 is a pretty cheap gps solution and offers a lot for the money.
Well, unfortunately i can't do stores.
Iso, thanks. That is a little higher than I'd like to go ($378.00z) I'd like to stay under $200.00 if at all possible. I'm like you, I have horrible sense of direction as well.
Maybe Mast will have some input?
