Tips for selling on ebay......
Anyone have anytips on selling stuff on selling stuff on ebay? I have a huge pile of clothes I want to sell. It's been in my closet forever and some of it hasn't been worn. I don't fit into it since the last BA. Just to give you an idea of what it is. It's pretty much dresses from Betsey Johnson, various jeans like True Religion and some misc. couture items. I've never sold before. I'm a newb at selling.

I am a new seller too, but Mike is a power seller and taught me some things. People are very cautious of new eBayers because there are so many spammers on there now too. What I done was there are these mystery auction things that you just pay a dollar for through paypal and, I did like 5 of those and messaged the sellers saying I was a new eBayer trying to become a seller and to please leave me feedback and I will do the same for you. So I got some feedbacks and I started selling things.
Just make sure you have a paypal account. A lot of people won't ship worldwide and they make big mistakes doing so, make a flat rate for domestic and calculate for worldwide.
From what I hear you have some good brands and if you put them all together in 1 big lot you can make a lot of money off of it. Good luck and I hope I was able to help you some.

Keywords are VERY important too. What you put in your title is how people will find you. So be sure to put the designer, size,ets..wjhatever you can fit. into the title to be found by more people.
Look up similar items and designers to see what they are going for. DOnt expect to get $400 for a betsey Johnson if they are all going for $30 inother words...price accordingly
If you cnat BEAR to let it go for under a certain price, put a reserve on the auction. So even if someone wins..if they dont meet the reserve price you dont have to sell it to them.
Make sure you have good CLEAR pics..preferably of someone wearing the clothes so you can see how they fit. List the model's(even if it is you...you can blur your face if you like) hight, weight, and measurments so people will have an idea of how it will fit THEM. And ALWAYS pay the extra .50 for a gallery pic. If I dont see a pic as i scroll down the list..I'm MUCH less likely to look..it wont catch my eye
Put anything you wont compromise on in the description...no refunds, no shipping to foreign countries, etcc..
I always say that I reserve the right to cancel bids if the person bidding has zero feedback or negative feedback for nonpayment. You can actually set preferances to not accept bids from people like that.
Tell them to ask any and ALL questions BEFORE auctions end and that all sales are final.
Tell people if you have other auctions so they can check them out as well and comnbine shipping for multiple wins(its very aggrivating when people wont..esp for clothes...shipping 2 shirts costs the same so when I'm charged double and they are shipped in the same package I'm pissed and wont buy from them again)
If you want...put up a cpl of stupid little things that SW-ers with ebay accounts can bid on and thus leave feedback(they dont even have to be real...I will bid, win, not pay, you wont send me anythig..but i leave you pos feedback anyway....thats how a lot of super sellers get huge numbers of feedback. I've done it for friends before)
Re: Tips for selling on ebay......
Before we moved across the country, we sold half of our stuff on eBay. I did a LOT of research before I put anything up for sale. I wanted to make sure it was at a good price compared to everyone else's even if it meant me losing a few bucks (or even more on certain items).
I was a new seller also so I had no feedback whatsoever. I explained myself well in every auction letting everyone know I was moving across the country and wanted to sell ASAP. I was strict with payment--only Paypal and within a few days. One lady e-mailed me asking me if it was okay if she could pay a few weeks later and if I could hold the items for her because she was in the middle of having a garage sale of her own before she moved too! I was very kind with everyone so they all left very positive feedback for me without me saying a word. I also tried to remember to leave them feedback in return.
The biggest thing that they loved was that I kept in contact with them after they won the item. As soon as they won, I e-mailed them thanking them and congratulating them on winning also asking them when the best time for them to pay would be. As soon as their payment went through with no problems, I packaged up their items and either the same day or the following day I'd ship them out. They loved how quickly I did that.
Once I got home from the post office/UPS, I'd e-mail them again with the confirmation number even if they didn't ask for it. I also made sure to wrap every item verrry securely. Not one item was broken or scratched or anything once they got it. Oh yeah, if an item was already scratched from being in storage or whatever, I made sure to make a point of it in the auction so they wouldn't be shocked/surprised once they received it. Some items I even took pictures of the marks/scratches if it was bad. They thanked me for that as well.
