Only VIP, no CR, but extra couches on floor..
I need help finding the best way to upsell in my club.
There's the main floor with comfy long couches lining the walls.
A VIP room that charges $100 entry per table for the rest of the night.
No Champagne room, no 3 for $100 room.
The guys on the main floor can get $20 dances in their chair or conveniently rush to the couches. I tried to upsell by charging $30 for the couch area, but these guys are used to going there for $20 with other girls.
The VIP room charges custys $100 entry per table--all night. AND, girls can walk in and out as they please and treat it like the main floor! Girls charge $20 dances in there. It's awkward to tell guys, "well, you're in VIP, and I charge $__ in here.."
Question #1-- How can I effectively use the main floor couches to upsell? Or is it a good idea to go $20 dollars all over?
Question #2-- How can I upsell in VIP?
Re: Only VIP, no CR, but extra couches on floor..
Are there any noticeable differences in customer behavior or types of customers that opt for paying $100 to get into the VIP area? The key might be there.
Does your club allow you to buy your time off of stage rotation? You could have an option where you have the guy buy you off of rotation and pay you for your uninterrupted time if you make a big deal out of not having to leave them to go to stage, etc. If you can get them to have you "all to themselves.. no sharing"... then you might have an additional selling point. You could also opt to "buy them a drink" as an added selling point. This works for me every once in a while. Also, if your club allows you to slightly negotiate the price if they buy in bulk (or just not tell them).
You can tell them that "the club will let you" do $150 prepaid, getting them 8 dances, some conversation and buys you off of stage rotation, and a drink. Something like that. The key is to pitch it with confidence, as if you do it all the time. You don't have to tell any of the girls about it. It might be a good way to cultivate regulars this way also.
OR, use the club's VIP option to get the guys off of the main floor, having them pay $250, have you all to themselves having bought you off of rotation, no other cheap customers watching you, a drink, and about 8 dances. You don't even have to tell them how many dances unless they ask.

definitely gonna try those, thanx!
Re: Only VIP, no CR, but extra couches on floor..
that's an odd set up. well, you cant charge more easily and have it be beneficial to you, because, as you saw, you will encounter guys seeing that they can get it for the and lesser price elsewhere.
as for VIP, why would the club want to do that? makes no sense.
hmm... i think that you can tell guys the club's cut is 100, and yours is 150.
but i like the idea above for 8 songs, charging for time for 150. and a drink. then your "house payout" is that you tip the dj to skip you for the next half hour etc.
Re: Only VIP, no CR, but extra couches on floor..
Sounds like geography is not the way to upsell in that club. Maybe sell "more intimate" dances for more, wherever you are? I've found that if I tell them they're getting something better and they pay me more for it they'll love it, even if it's basically the same thing with some extra eye contact and heavy breathing.
Re: Only VIP, no CR, but extra couches on floor..
Sounds like your club is making extra money off the vip room and the girls are not. Thats kind of weird but there must be an advantage for the customers to be in there and for the girls to to dances in there.
Re: Only VIP, no CR, but extra couches on floor..
Been at this club a week and realized girls sneak guys back there a lot and the managers don't really care to keep track of entries. They're very laid back.
So I guess now I can sell 3/$100, 1/2 hr. and 1hr in VIP without the guys having to pay 100 to get in.
Maybe I can tempt the guys by telling them I can get them in free or something
Re: Only VIP, no CR, but extra couches on floor..
Bless your heart. It sounds like you have some horrible management. Good luck at that club...
Is there another one in the area you can check out? Because seriously, if you've been there a week and have seen that much inconsistency, it will probably get worse. And the set-up is not ideal, especially if the club isn't sticking to their own rules.
Re: Only VIP, no CR, but extra couches on floor..
don't rely on the 'sneaking guys in' thing, unless you are consistently charging enough to cover the room fee out of your own pocket (and still keep a decent hourly rate for yourself) once management starts catching people.

Oh, I live in Austin. NO clubs in Austin have a decent system. They don't use the club to their utmost advantage. Blah

Was going to say, this sounds like P10. I never found a good way to work the VIP system there...
Re: Only VIP, no CR, but extra couches on floor..
yha, I was going to ask if this was P10 too. I haven't ever been able to sneak back there, not that I would. But management is all over the guy every time he just walks into that area. I started a thread on this situation not too long ago called "club has CR but doesn't..." but we never really came to a conclusion on what to do.
When I'm back there, or on the couches I just keep pushing dances. As in "omg I love this song.." or "this song plays every night and I have never not danced to it" and then stand up and dance. It's been making my time worth while. I also usually ask for food back there so I can eat and talk for a few songs and then dance again, multitasking. I've just started doing this and thus far I've been getting allot of tips on top of my dance money.
I'm still working on perfecting this, but so far its worked considerably well.
^theres the thread I started

not P10. all austin clubs suck when it comes to this
