I just wanted to say (plate size and portion)
I bought myself some small- or what would have many years ago been normal sized plates- and portioned out my food according to the half fruit or veggie, part protien part whole grain thing, and I feel shockingly satisfied. I have heard that it's a mind trick and since we are taught to eat what's on our plate we often over eat. So, I like that I found these very plain and normal sized plates- like $1.50 at wal-mart.

wow and here I thought I was the only one who did that!

I haven't tried this specifically, but once you discovered proper portion sizes it's pretty amazing. Like...most people are really only supposed to be eating 1/3 of what they put on their plates.
And once your body makes the adjustment, it's easy to stay slim/fit and you're satisfied with less.

Oh god....looks at enormous empty plate sitting next to laptop
Fortunately it was full of salad, 2 slices wheat pita, and coldcut chicken. Ok, and hummous...busted!
