There really isn't anything "complicated" about privacy. You are either violating someone's privacy or you are not. The fact that the blogger decides he or she doesn't care about that possible negative effect does not make it OK.
If you choose to write about another person, good bad or otherwise, there is always a chance that others will be able to figure out who you are writing about. Being a blogger does not negate, at least in my world, the need to respect private conversations or events that occur between you and another person.
Blogging about another person is no different than gossiping about that person behind their back to another person or, in this case, lots of other people. The anonymity of the internet does not change that.
So if you define "complicated" to mean "yeah, I thought about it being wrong but I did it anyways" then yeah, I guess you could be right. But I don't think so.
Right or wrong this is pretty much the way most bloggers think. The point of this thread is that he obviously did not do a good enough job of disguising things as he thought. One of the questions in my mind would be how hard was he really trying ?
In other words, fuck her if she can't take a joke...
Yeah, or the blogger could just do the right thing and respect the privacy of others to begin with...
Of course, the problem with this is that a lot of bloggers wouldn't have anything to write about...
