My goal is to add some cardio 3 days a week. I already do Pilates 4-6 times a week and would really like to burn off some fat so you can actually see some of the muscles in my tummy. I can't keep track of food and I hate to weigh myself.
So my goal is simple and specific - add 3 days of cardio to my workout every week.

I want to lose 30 pounds overall- and 10 pounds before valentines would be awesome. That will bring me back down to the weight I was BEFORE I met my Valentine and gained 20 pounds of happiness and contentment. ;D
Right now (since yesterday, lol)
eating = up to 1,250 calories
exercising = 30, 45, or 60 minutes of cardio a day depending on the activity/intensity
toning = pilates, ballet type exercises
drinking = 3 - 24oz bottles of water
I also want to stretch my muscles every night so I can get super flexible (for kinky purposes)

You know you've been eating too much crap when your husband, who LOVES junk food, actually tells you that he craves your vegetarian dinners and healthy chicken and veggie stir-fry. That's a wake up call. :)
I'm going to Vegas in a month. I would like to drop the 5 pounds I gained over Christmas by then. I think that's a pretty realistic goal... it would be nice to lose an extra pound or two of fat so I can gain it eating delicious Vegas cuisine, but if not, that's ok. :)
I used to be incredibly good about working out 5-6 days a week- 40-50 minutes of cardio every day, weights twice a week. Over the holidays, it dropped down to 3 days a week, doing whatever I have time for.
I want to get back to 5 days a week as well as do my yoga and pilates videos every other day. I've never even opened my yoga dvd- sad. I also want to focus more on my upper body. I'm pear-shaped, and I've been so scared of losing my C cup boobies, my arms are totally gross and flabby and my boobs are starting to sag. Unacceptable! Upper body weights and push-ups, here I come. :) I'd rather be toned all over and have smaller boobs than what I've got going on now.
As far as diet goes- lots of fruits (which I love anyway), veggies, brown rice, whole grain pasta and beans- with just a little meat. When I eat those foods, keep it around 1500 calories a day, and cut back on the booze and sweets, I drop weight like crazy.
I also must master NOT pigging out when I smoke the green stuff.... I am ashamed to admit some of the things I have devoured while under the influence (a dozen sugar cookies, anyone?).
This thread is so inspiring. I can't wait to read what everyone else is doing. :)
I'm in! I was getting somewhere in October, but bleh. I've gotten more flexible and kept it, but I have a long way to go. And I have to be reasonable with myself. I have work and school and I can't workout all damn week.
Goals: Being less tired all the time. More stamina. More bendiness.
So:
Water. Lots of it. With Emergen-c. Get a new Brita. And no more than 1 cup of soda at work (they're little cups).
Bringing food to work, so dinner is more than a Cliff bar.
Stretch 5 days a week. I can fit in 10 minutes of stretching a day.
1/2 hour of cardio or Pilates twice a week.
Also, switching my schedule to 4-12, two days a week once school starts, so I get some sleep.
My trainer told me I will not lose weight unless I drink a ton of water....1/2 gallon or so a day, due to water retention.
So that's on my list. Also, so far I'm being super anal about the actual protein, carb, fat, and calorie content of what I eat. The powdered non-dairy creamer I scoop into my coffee is 60 calories and 3g of fat on its own!
And I did legs today, but I am low-energy, and couldn't get through the workout, kept feeling light-headed. But my legs involved squats and lunges with heavy weights AND instability to engage the core. So I still got benefit out of it....
well, I didn't do shit today exercise wise, but I ate well (as in healthy choices).
I am so on this thing.
I did a huge yoga session on sunday and it still hurts, ugh, to think I used to be able to put my legs behind my head without warming up, and didn't have that horrible belly popping out, it's all about the belly people, it has to go, it's cramping my style!!!
So, I have no scale and can't run cos it 'kills' my boobs so right now it's just yoga on sundays and stretching whenever i remember, that's pathetic, ok, i'm off to go buy a sportsbra and check out gyms in the area, yep, on my way, right now.
Food wise i'm not so bad, I don't eat any meat and my dairy intake is very low (oh for the love of cheese), I crave fresh veggies and salads like a carnivore craves critter BUT even though i'm not usually a sweet-tooth, all this american chocolate is gonna have me looking like the michelin man, must stop.
Oh and wine *sob*.

For the first time EVER, I paid very detailed attention to what I ate, measured, read the label, etc...and here are the results:
Tot Calories goal: 1350. actual: 1,132
Tot Carbs goal: 203g. actual: 228g
Tot Protein goal: 80g. actual: 66g
Tot Fat goal: 28g. actual: 35g
Pretty close, not too bad. And I'm full, and ate all day. But I'll be hungry in a few hours again, doh!
Plus I baked a salmon, and I'm only supposed to have 3 ounces of it. Fuck that shit! I'm going to have more. Also, I had no way to really measure the amount of salmon, so there is a bit of artistic license at work here. I know salmon has a lot of fat, but c'mon, it has a tons of protein and no carbs. Want more.......
But the fat and carbs..nooooooooo! They are my loves!
Also, a secret culprit = non-dairy coffee creamer, that shit is bad!

im doing 30 mins of cardio a day, and weight training every second day. and eating 1000 calories a day. and under 20 grams of fat a day. TONS of fresh fruit and veggies, NO white bread or flour.
I was wondering what the deal with caffiene is? how come it's bad when your trying to lose weight??....i never understood this....
I know my goals are "ambiguous" but because I have an ED, I can't really set goals like I would like to specifically eat this many calories a day and specifically weight this specific weight without flipping out.
That said, I have "recovered" quite a bit more than I would like to, and I'm nowhere near under-weight. I would like to get back down to the 105-108 area (5'2-sh") and I'm about ten pounds above that.
So, in making these my life goals, not for a short period of time:
Cut eating processed foods down to 3-4 meals a week....
Either eat at home or at a quality, non highly-processed, refined sugar resturaunt..
Eat more vegetables, and less read meat
Eat more sushi :)
Work out three times a week, focusing on doing activities I enjoy and that improve my health.
Cut back on my drinking . For right now, I'm letting myself have two glasses of wine a day maximum, which is good for my beer drinking from WI ass.
Ok, so i bought a sports bra and some stretchy gear so i really have no excuses. I'm actually not too concerned about my diet because when i was measuring calories etc i would rarely get 2000 in and often less than 1000, this is just how i eat. Organising my diet always scares me a little, I get worried about slipping into old (ED) habits and this past s*^t is what has me heavier now anyways, ugh, anyways, sing it with me now "bye bye belly bye bye, bye bye".

I try to drink more water when I get the munchies. Sometimes that hungry feeling means your body is just trying to tell you its thirsty. Esp after you smoke. So drink a big tall glass of water before reaching for those cookies. It might be the difference between 2 cookies and 12 :)
I went for a really long walk last night, then drank a bucket load of wine (etc) then had a rough nights sleep with the coughing. I'm thinking maybe not the best idea to go out running in the cold with this cough, plus i'm dead tired, maybe if i get a few hours now i'll be ok, do some yoga or sommat, and my hamstrings are still sore? Why can't there be a gym in my building? Boy says we can move when my permit comes through and i can work. Oh i'm rambling, more coffee.

I also need to control my pigging out when I smoke bud, that's the only thing I hate about it. Ugh! Normally I never eat junk foods but that makes my appetite out of control! I try to drink a lot of water but it doesn't really help. Oh well..
omg, katrine, you and I have similar goals! only difference is I want to workout 6 days a week. 7 if possible. i like the rush, but it's getting mysel to get the rush that's tough.
Right on. Drink some water, brew some tea... those always help me kill cravings.
Not having junk in the house is a huge help too. If I have to drag my ass to a store to buy soda, I won't do it. But if a nice cold diet Coke is sitting in the fridge, there's no stopping me.
1 month goals:
Get to the gym 3x/week minimum
Eat out 1x/week max
Keep up a food journal (thank goodness for www.fitday.com)
Make my butt less squishy :yuck:
Do you think that might be too ambitious and a setup for failure? For example, my trainer said I can almost certainly lose more than 6lb in the month, but I told her to keep the goal at 6. If I up it to 8, and don't succeed, I will not be pleased with my hard work.

pastrami sammich on wheat
more delicious bass (salmon really) and veggies
But my stomach hurts from allergies draining and drinking. Tomorrow to the gym.

Its not too bad actually, I really didn't have enough earlier today. I just wish I could eat more earlier throughout the day, but I'm a creature of the night, and my appetite builds.

I don't think it's overly ambitious. Personally, as long as you lose SOME WEIGHT, you'll be happy. When I first set out to drop 50 lbs I thought, "well, even if I only lose 2, I've done some good." The thing is, if you don't make the full 6 in this month, you've always got next month to make it to that goal. That's how I see it. Plus, or me I log my weight. I write down my goal weights and what month I reached them. Like this:
My starting weight: 170 lbs (dec. 2006/jan. 2007)
My starting weight on SP: 155 lbs (may. 2007)
My 1st goal weight: 144 lbs (june 2007)
My 2nd goal weight: 133 lbs (september 2007)
My 3rd goal weight: 121 lbs
My ULTIMATE GOAL: 110 lbs
Hopefully I'll hit that 121 this month. If not, like I said, I'm gonna get it next month. We'll be fine! No worries.
Right now I've been bouncing around from 104-106 I want to be a steady like 102 at the end of the month. I want to continue my eating habits (I eat super healthy so that's fine.) But I really need to start working out again...no work does not count! So my goal is to be 102 and I want to start working out twice a week to start with.
