The club I work at in upstate NY gives me: $30 for a 20 minute VIP room gig, $10 for a private nude dance for 5 minutes, and $5 for a regular lapdance at the stage.
Is that a fair pricing or do you make more?

Granted I've never worked in that area ( I fo' sho' don't plan on working there now!) but I just wanna throw in my two cents...
.... not fair at ALL! $30 for 20 minutes of a dancer's time, no thanx. In NYC a half hour room will go for somewhere in the mid hundreds. Most likely between $200-and-$500 depending on which club. Even in Jersey a 20 minute private room would net you somewhere around $150.
Granted, those rooms aren't super easy to sell but I'd rather have a challenge than be underpaid.
Brodie... road trip?
unfortunately the upstate New York economy is a far cry from the Manhattan economy. It's fairly standard fare for upstate clubs to only pay out $10 on a private dance that costs the customer $20, for upstate clubs to only pay out 50% of the amount charged to thd customer for VIP room time etc. The trade off of course is that upstate clubs typically do not charge a stage fee, whereas the stage fee charged to dancers at Manhattan clubs like the one Sophia describes can run $100 - $200 or even higher per shift.
But yeah in general the earnings potential in all upstate NY clubs sucks big time ! I guess the consolation prize though is that if you have a totally sucky night in an upstate NY club you'll still walk out with a few extra dollars in your purse, whereas if you have a totally sucky night in a Manhattan club you can walk out OWING the club $100 more in stage fee than you actually earned that night ! High percentages versus high fixed stage fees are both 'two-edged swords'.
Umm, I think that your club is worse than most in Upstate & would suggest looking elsewhere. I'm from Rochester, NY, and while I have never danced there myself, I've done a bit of research and know that most aren't THAT horrible... check out some of these places... the prices are much better here at least.... (i also found many that were the same as yours... but again, the ones below are better. dunno about atmosphere/customer base etc...)
Club 35 in Fredonia NY
Mirage Palace in Rochester
Rick's Tally-Ho in Rochester
Adult World in Syracuse
Club X-tasy (1100 Club) in Rochester
Well I work for Pharoahs In Buffalo, I can tell thats a Tally Ho Post they are the ONLY club in the area that does that (buffalo i mean)
At ours here its per dance, per song. 22.00 per dance you get 15.00, club takes 5 and NYS Sales Tax gets 2.00 (New Law in NY this year.)
Of course we are a very laid back club but also very clean, we dont let crap from custies or ho cakes go.
Hope this helps....
Oh and our Dj's are very good :D
Thanks all. I'm going to look into the clubs you mentioned.
I'm going to be in NYC sometime over the next couple months, so I would love to work a shift or two at one of those high-paying clubs. Those rates sound amazing! Do you have to know somebody to audition or is it just like everywhere else? And do you have to look like a model?
Assuming I'm all dolled up with makeup, a hot stripper outfit, wearing stripper heels and under the black lights, I'd give myself a 9.5 in the face and an 8.5 on the body because I have pierced natural 34 D boobs that have some sag. (men freak out for 'em, but I can't compete with implants for looks). Of course, I am by no means a model.
Also, do keep in mind, that most of the NYC clubs are gown clubs, Scores (and I believe PEC) don't allow platform stripper shoes. No tattoos, small ones may be allowed as far as getting hired, but they will require you to cover ALL tattoos. As far as piercings, I know of like, one maybe two girls at Hustler who have their nipples done. Hustler is considered to be by FAR the most lenient of the big NYC clubs.. Hustler does allow tattoos (assuming your super cute).
Good luck hun! :)
 Hi Rob!
Rick's Tally Ho is probably the worst club to work for around here. I worked one shift there and that was enough. Dance cuts were huge and it was filthy.
So aside from that there is Madamoiselle's and Pharaoh's in the Buffalo area. Both are reasonable for fees and dance cuts.
