Another thread about dealing with...
people you know from OTC coming into the club and recognizing you.
Take this hypothetical scenario: In a city of, say, 300-400 thousand ppl, it is fairly likely that a professor, a store clerk, or even a neighbour would innocently (innocently, yeah, right) come into the club where you strip. How would you deal with it?
Would you ask management to kick him out, or would you rather leave for the night? Or maybe you wouldn't care? Perhaps you would have a clever story to tell the unexpected customer? Or a clever lie to tell everyone else when trying to deny said customer's story?
Please, enlighten!
Re: Another thread about dealing with...
Deny, deny, deny, and turn it around on them.
"WHY would you say something like that? WHY were you in a place like that?"
& Never act ashamed. After all you get paid to get naked..Not everyone can do that.
Re: Another thread about dealing with...
Leave for the night, or see if you can get off the stage rotation and just lay low. Managment isnt going to kick out a spending customer for no reason.
Re: Another thread about dealing with...
Since when does anybody come into a club innocently?
Anyway, I live in a city about that size (maybe a little larger) and in three years of dancing have seen a few people I recognized. The first was a former (thank god!) college professor of mine. I recognized him before he recognized me, so I went and hid in the DJ booth. I guess he did figure out who I was, though, because a few days later he sent me an e-mail out of the blue -- I hadn't been in his class in over a year. I never answered.
About a year ago I recognized a guy in the club and scoped him as he walked back to his table...then realized the entire table were students of mine from a corporate yoga class I used to teach. Out for an employee party, I guess. Eeek. I went and hid in VIP.
So, yes, it's possible. On both occasions, I saw them before they saw me. and the club was very understanding about taking me out of the rotation and letting me hide out until they were gone. Most clubs are used to dealing with this occasionally. So, I guess I was lucky. I probably wouldn't dance in a city where I had family living, though.
Re: Another thread about dealing with...
I have been waitressing and dancing for about 3-4 months now at a club that is about a half an hour from were I live. So far I have only had one guy come in that I knew. He pretty much spotted me first so I was busted right there and then. He was nice about though, helped that he was only in the area for the holidays and it turned out ok. I wound up in the VIP room with him later that night, he turned out to be a good tipper to, but if I had seen him first I so would have ran into the back.
