Too many bad nights in a row????
Ive never had so many patterns of bad nights where I just made the club fee or have made 0 as I have in the past two weeks. I'm wondering what advice anyone has to offer whenever this happens, it seems like the money just isnt happening anymore and I keep meeting these guys in the club who want to monopolize my time by talking and who are not the type to go for dances. I feel like somehow Ive lost my ability to hustle and find the money.
Its so discouraging when these nights happen in a row, especially when bills need to be paid!!!

Where do you live?
Also, have you considered cocktail waitressing at a club? it lets you get a steady paycheck and have a good, impartial view of the stripper climate.

Re: Too many bad nights in a row????
Are you the only one who feels this way or are the other girls complaining too? Maybe its time to swtich clubs.

Re: Too many bad nights in a row????
If many of the other girls are in the same boat, I'd tell you to switch clubs. Some clubs have lost their money potential and are getting by on a breath of hope. In those clubs, desperate dancers will train customers to sit and not tip or buy dances while getting company for free. The more desperate a girl is, the more tempting it is to stick with a loser in the hopes that money will appear. Customers and dancers get trained unconsciously this way. It's not that you keep meeting the monopolizing kind. It's that you keep letting them monopolize your time. Take charge, turn the tables, keep working the room, and kick some ass.
If the customer is a loser, whether there seem to be better options or not, you need to move and hustle someone else. You just do. Don't even let the conversation drone. Keep it upbeat and don't pussy-foot around about selling a dance because you're scared they'll say no. If it's going sour, just ask anyway because the sooner you hear no, the sooner you can clip him and move on. And.... sometimes you will get a surprising "yes" this way.

it's always good to refresh yourself and not think about work for a day or two

Re: Too many bad nights in a row????
Thanks ,I ll give some of these things a try, Ive decided to work in the better Toronto clubs this week and maybe this is the problem. I heard the with stock market drop last week nobody this affects the business especially in the metropolitan ciites.
I think Ill try out of town the rest of this week and see if this helps.

That's exactly what I did, and the reason why I did it.

Re: Too many bad nights in a row????
^ I hear you.
Tonight sucked, and the only reason I'm half complacent over the matter is I'm drunk.
Joining you at hollywood/cheerleaders next week. Good to know it's not even any better than where I am. Hurrah.
I need another drink. I hate January.

Re: Too many bad nights in a row????
heh, well I wouldn't join the bandwagon if they didn't DEMOILISH HALF MY CLUB.
It looks so bad, I think I need a hard hat. Mmph!
50 girls, eek. I guess it only takes one guy though, right? The old mantra.
-
Re: Too many bad nights in a row????

or we could tag team them? ill hold one down, you grab his wallet! lol

Re: Too many bad nights in a row????
Haha. I always tell guys any money they walk through the door with is fair game, and if they leave with cab fair they should feel lucky.

Re: Too many bad nights in a row????

Re: Too many bad nights in a row????
Don't feel bad ya'll, my club closed at 10:30pm last nite bc the last dancer walked out. I know cuz the DJ was callin giving me updates just in case I was tempted to go in.::)
Meanwhile, I just found 2 bucks in quaters so I think I'm gonna be all rash and impulsive with a "fuck it" attitued and go buy me a large iced coffee.

Re: Too many bad nights in a row????

Honestly mermaidnz at least you know that when you walk into the club you are going to walk out with SOME money. Cheerleaders is so bad that there are girls walking out in the negative or only having sold one $50 dance (with the door fee $30).
I hear you about the number of girls working at the moment. Everyone seems to be doing more shifts due to the lack lustre money.
It IS actually "time of year" for us here on the Gold Coast. Only UNI students (who are notoriously cheap) are still on holidays, families are no longer on holiday and are now dealing with the first week(s) of school.
This is why I'm grumbling so much about the fact that we can NOT hustle for tips from the stage whilst on stage ... it may not end up being huge money I get from the stage however at least it is money.
Anyway, it is temporary. Plus the old mantra "it only takes one customer" still reins true... even if that one customer doesn't appear until 2.30am!
I had two great nights followed by two awful nights (with one being my own fault as I slacked off working due to it being so painfully slow!)...
In the end, I just brush it off. It happens. The next night I work is a new night with new possibilities. I never allow a previous night to affect me unless it was so horrid/horrible.

Re: Too many bad nights in a row????
I don't know if we're at the same club dance77, but if we are, I've been having the same problem this week. For the first time in my whole year dancing I went home with 0 two nights in a row. BUT, last night was excellent. It was like all the guys were saving their money (and hiding from the cold, because it was really f-in cold this week) to come out on thursday! The VIP was rockin.
Of course, it's always good to work other clubs. Mine is notoriously empty before 10-11, I just don't switch because I'm very habitual.

Come to my club, you'll feel better. Because my club has been like this since Oct/Nov. The summer is so great, but it doesn't start to pick up again till conventions Feb/March and the time in between is so dismal.

As for what i do when it gets like that, i take a break.
One of the many reasons why i save save save, so that when i need a break, i don't need to worry too much about paying bills.
