What is the best for acne prone skin?
I like proactive.
try washing your face at night w/ a gentle daily scrub (bath and body has a good one though i cant remember the name but its a daily) then use a moisturizer. in the morning just rinse your face w/ warm water w/ a wash cloth and add moisturizer. sometimes you can be washing your face too much, give your face a rest :)
I like the L'oreal Acne Response system way better than Proactive. Proactive is too harsh on my skin, and the L'oreal stuff worked alot quicker too. At least for me.
I find the gentler the stuff is, the better. I like Aveeno foaming face wash.
I use Clearasil and Aveeno.
The oil cleansing method. There's threads about. My skin has never been clearer, softer, smaller pores, more even tone and i even think my lines may be less visible. I had cystic pimples and really large pores and lots of blackheads. The oil cleansing thing has made all of this better.

purpose
My dermatologist years ago recommended cetaphil, and it seems to work well enough, although I do like to use a scrubbing cleanser sometimes, too - I'm a fan of the St. Ives Apricot one.
Cetaphil
I use the Dermalogica line. Much better than Proactive, imo. It made my mum break out and did nada for me.
Haha, so many choices! I use Clean and Clear in the mornings, and L'Occitane Honey Face Wash for sensitive skin at night. That way, my face doesn't dry out.
I like the aveeno foaming face wash but right now i am using mary kay timewise and i like it.
Dermalogica Antibac facewash and Active Moist moisturiser
Thanks I will start the oil method today.
1. should I do it once or twice daily?
2. I have about 5-6 pimples right now so will this help them go away quicker? They are not very big or deep just nasty blemishes.
Ive had acne since I was 12 but it subsided once I got on Birth control at 15-18 but I dont like the pill and when i got off i started breaking out bad around my period and sometimes throughout the month. Ive tried proactive and no good but Loreal was better for me so I think I do over cleanse so i am ready to try something new:O
^personally I would start off with once a day. Do it in the evening to remove makeup and grime. Maybe just do a splash with water in the morning or use something else other than oil. At least until you see how your skin reacts.
^Yeah, I do it once a day, in the evenings and just use a clean wet washcloth in the mornings, or if my skin is feeling not so great I use dr huashka's cleansing cream. Their stuff is lovely.
I also use a little pure vitamin e oil on dry or red spots and vitamin c moisturiser. I don't feel the oil cleansing method makes my skin too oily at all, on the contrary.

Yes, it did and it was terribly uncomfortable. The L'oreal hasn't irritated me at all. But when my skin clears up I switch to a gentler gel cleanser for a couple days. If my skin is a little more dry than usual, I'll use a creamy cleanser (oil free of course). Just listen to your skin... and drink pleany of water! I find this matters alot w/how dry my skin gets.
I like Purpose also.
I love Dermalogica! I don't suffer from acne but for the ppl I know who do Dermalogica works great for them.
^ Yeah. I never really had acne but Derm really cleared up my skin anyway! It was so nice to use! I went to my skin therapist one month and had oily skin and a month later I went to a different one and she's like, "I don't know why you checked oily skin. You have dry normal skin." The dry part was my fault - I really love using the harsh exfoliants! Went back to a DIFFERENT one three weeks later and I apparently had perfect skin. They only wanted to do a basic cleanse and facial on me because of it. All because I use this stuff. My skintone is more even. I wake up looking more beautiful and refreshed because of it. And when I do get a zit, it's so tiny it's not even a nusance.
Proactive worked beautifully for me. Right now I'm using Lush Ocean Salt face scrub, followed by Aveda moisturizer...And some of the tantalizing Lush cupcake facial mask a couple of times a week for good measure. Makes me a happy girl.
The Cetaphil bar soap is working for me right now. Can't deal with the stuff in the pump version since I have this weird OCD ingrained in myself that says "if it ain't lathering, it ain't cleaning". It's gentle and it lathers! Then I follow with Benzaclin (which is the most drying facial product I've ever laid hands on) or Differin Gel, then Cerave moisturizer.
