If you repeatedly ask for my business card...
and I'm having a too drunk, too happy time with you in VIP and actually hand it over, do you:
a) Throw it out when your shift ends;
b) Keep it as a prize, a la a moosehead;
c) Keep it for business reasons, with the idea of calling or e-mailing me to come back into the club another time
I'm personally hoping the answer is "a," but I wanted to ask.

Re: If you repeatedly ask for my business card...
What kind of prize is that? It is obviously to call. Just brush it off.
-
Re: If you repeatedly ask for my business card...
It somehow gets lost along the way.
-
Re: If you repeatedly ask for my business card...
I keep business cards. I've never called one but I like to keep them handy in case I need a lawyer ;D

Re: If you repeatedly ask for my business card...
If a dancer asks you for the card she probably intends to turn you into a regular of some sort and call you to get you to come back in and spend more money. (especially if you were spending a ton on her in VIP)
If a custie just gives a dancer a card without being asked for it, more than likely it gets thrown away or dropped on the floor.

Re: If you repeatedly ask for my business card...
^^ Yep. If I ASK for it(which I dont think I ever have) it is because I intend to call you or email you for some reason.
If you offer it...most likely I will throw it out. If you spend a crapload of money, I might keep it and call or email you to cultivate you as a reg.

Re: If you repeatedly ask for my business card...
If you're spending money in VIP and the girl asks you for your card, she wants to cultivate you as a regular. Duh.

Re: If you repeatedly ask for my business card...
C. Of course. Sometimes I rethink it later though and throw it away.
-
Re: If you repeatedly ask for my business card...
If I ask for any contact information, it's to get you to come back and spend more money. If you offer, I'll accept for the same reason, or to keep false hope alive until AFTER you've paid me what you owe me.
I think most dancers get enough business cards that we don't think of them as trophies or anything special. My friend and I did toss around the idea of an art project with all the cards that had accumulated at the bottoms our bags over the years...

Re: If you repeatedly ask for my business card...
I wouldn't ask a customer for his business card but agree with what Bridgette said.
I get given business cards all the time, it surprises me that men are willing to give them to strippers TBH.
I put them in our clubs mailing list box ;D

Re: If you repeatedly ask for my business card...
Gentlemen- you should wrap the card in a tip to conceal it. Some clubs will fire or penalize dancers for taking info.
-
Re: If you repeatedly ask for my business card...
I used to collect them, I thought it was funny.

Re: If you repeatedly ask for my business card...
Well C. of course, especially if I see a potential regular in you! And that's just the honest truth.....

Re: If you repeatedly ask for my business card...
Why would I keep a business card as a prize? Yeah, I'll go get it framed and put it up in my locker at the club. ::)
If I'm given a business card, it goes into my stripper purse, in this little pocket inside. I keep business cards always in general, because I don't want to have a hard time getting a hold of anyone. But the ones I get ITC don't go in my wallet with the rest.
A lot of girls give out their cell numbers and exchange them with customers, but I've never been comfortable with that. So if business is slow one night and I'm having difficulty making money, I've got a collection of cards to choose from in my purse. Just dial-a-dance.

Hehe! That is so cute! It's true though, there have been times where I dialed-a-dance and it saved my night....ended up being the only money I took home

Maybe she's a writer, and wants to network.

Well put!
I suppose my issue, simply put, is this: I provided much more information than she did, and now I feel, eeeek!, exposed.
Put another way, just as dancers are (rightly) skitish about having their real identities known OTC, some customers feel this way, too. Besides, it feels inequitable: She knows much more about me than I know about her. I'd rather have everybody leave the club as friendly--in her case, beautiful--strangers. Definitely safer that way.
Update: So far, no phone calls, txts or e-mails.

Re: If you repeatedly ask for my business card...
Depends... Most of the time, I just throw it out. SOMETIMES, I may keep it to cultivate you as a regular. Then there are other times when I hold onto it because I may actually NEED your professional services sometime. Honestly, I'd rather meet an accountant or a chiropractor in the club than run the risk of encountering a judgemental asshole that I got from the phone book. (My current chiropractor was a referral from my SC manager, and my divorce attorney came from a dancer recommendation. But my computer guy was a SC customer, as was my mechanic.) I've also met stuff like photographers and printers (which I use for business cards & promo stuff) in the club.
I wouldn't read too much into it.

Re: If you repeatedly ask for my business card...
If I asked, I'm keeping it for business--probably not to cultivate you as a reg because I'm still not comfortable talking to all but one of my people OTC, but more because you're in a line of work that I could use help with. I've never ever thought about using this info for evil, CE! Yikes!

Re: If you repeatedly ask for my business card...
I handed out my business card one time. It had my office work number listed. Bad decision. But I don't have a problem with offering my cell number to a dancer I am interested in.

I kept Ivanka Trump's business card as a trophy, but I'm also not a dancer...
