Re: Oops! - But no asthma!
Thats great to hear that youre doing ok!
Australia! I only get Hayfever in Perth. Nowhere else in the world, not even on the farms I grew up on!
We get unique stuff down here :-)
Re: Oops! - But no asthma!
Good to hear you have improvement.
Um I just have to add a "holy #@[email protected]# crap!!!!" on the new avatar (in a very good way). Extensions or magic?
Re: Oops! - But no asthma!
Lol, thanks :) its an old pic - my hair is even longer now (longer than me). Its about 50% extensions though although Ive been growing it long enough for it to be about the same length (-:
Re: Oops! - But no asthma!
I'm kinda just shocked and amused that you came to this country the year I was born and yet you're so vibrant, youthful and wholly awesome! :D
Re: Oops! - But no asthma!
Awwww, thank you! (-: (-:
Thats hilarious that you were born in 86, I dont feel 16 years older than you!!!
Re: Oops! - But no asthma!
Buteyko is a joke, don't bother with all that mess.
I too finished my old preventative (Flovent) and haven't needed to buy another one! Getting out of L.A. smog was the biggie there, but I've also gone mostly vegetarian and I've cut out most flour and sugar. I definitely feel a lot better these days. Yay for no more asthma!!
Re: Oops! - But no asthma!
^^^I totally disagree about Buteyko being a joke. The time I tried a little it worked wonders, and it has a very high success rate, over 90% being able to come off of asthma drugs I believe and a full 100% of people having definate noticeable improvement.
I know your aunt is an asthma expert but so are many other people who support The Butekyo Method. Like all areas of medicine you will find people on both sides.
I went to see mainstream asthma specialists a few years ago and they totally cheated with their tests, it was bullshit. Im glad I found a good Dr who explores and teaches alternatives and that I was lucky enough to be in hospital emergency when a man was there who had cured himself of asthma using the Buteyko method cos he helped me more than the staff did.
Re: Oops! - But no asthma!
For some reason i cant edit my post. I mean to say Im glad youve had improvements too Yekhefa, keep it up!! (-:
Re: Oops! - But no asthma!
My asthma has subsided too, it shouldn't have, i'm lazy at best with preventatives (I haven't taken it in months) and with a north american winter i should be out of breath all the time (My biggest triggers are stress and rapid temp changes) but the only times i've used my ventolin is when i had colds (Due I believe to strange climates and stress) but even they didn't become bronchitis, I was shocked but very pleased. I still get shortness of breath on cold days.
I don't know why it's better, maybe because i'm happier with life, I think alot of my asthma was emotional.
I was slack with buteyko so I have no personal comments, but it worked well for a friend of mine.
Yay for air!!!
XXXS
Re: Oops! - But no asthma!
^^^The emotional connections for asthma are very interesting. I relate a lot to some of the things Ive read!
Who did you learn Buteyko through? Im still wondering if maybe i should do the course anyway just incase...
A good friend of mine had her sons asthma treated naturally. I think it was part nutrient and diet based treatment and partly homeopathy which focussed on emotions. On the first night of treatment her son who was usually a fairly quiet child just clung to his dad. He yelled and screamed angrily and cried for hours then finally went to sleep at about 1am. He was fine after that. Hed been hospitalised fairly regularly before hand. Some people will say that asthma relates to suppressed anger. I think mine may well relate to repressed childhood anger. I shall be working on letting it out / go soon (-:
Re: Oops! - But no asthma!
You know what I find interesting? I haven't had asthma or allergies since I moved to Australia at all. I checked with my doctor and he said it was because my body hadn't been around it long enough to develop allergies.
I did get hayfeaver in WA though. Who doesn't? HELLHOLE.
But you got astma coming here... how odd.
Re: Oops! - But no asthma!
^^^Thats interesting, did you have bad asthma before you moved here then? I had it before I moved here but not much and nothing that a ventolin tablet wouldnt fix. (Do they even still prescribe ventolin tablets, lol?)
Australia has the highest asthma rates in the world, Ive always been under the impression that a lot of people had the same problems as me when they moved here. Youre lucky!!!
Re: Oops! - But no asthma!
I had it pretty bad. Couldn't run. Would even cough up blood, the works.
I came here and...nothing. Not so much as a breakout in allergies or anything.
Huh. I must be the strange one.
