I just got a phone call today informing me that the city of Rock Springs is now going to require licenses for dancers.
When does that go into effect? I talked to the manager at the Millennium last week and she said nothing about it.
Damn, I was planning to try a weekend there before the end of February. Please post details if you have any.
Thanks!
It's already in effect. You can't have had a felony in the last 5 (?) years, and you're good to go. I think (?) Green River is still license free.
I hear there's way too many girls at the Millennium right now...
Holy crap, really? Hmmm, that means less girls from here will be going there I'm sure.
I wonder what the process is and how expensive the license is? I still want to try it out.
The manager at Millennium told me they limit the number of girls and cut it off by 8pm?
I just might have to call her and get the scoop form the horses mouth.
I got the impression it was cheap.
I talked to a friend who was there last week and she said there've been about 15 girls a shift, when there are normally 6-8.
Alright, just got off the phone with the manager.
The license doesn't go into effect till March 1, it's $100 for a year and you get it at the city office next to the police station. You need to get in before 3pm because they don't finger print after that.
She says there are never more than 12 girls on the weekends and 8 during the week and she does cut the list at 8pm.
Now I just need to muster up enough courage to try it out before March 1, so if it's no good I don't waste money on the license.
I wonder what the average night is for the girl money-wise?
What's up with the other club there? No one talks about it.
Doesn't the snowy weather deter many of you guys from Salt Lake from getting to the club lately?
One of the North/South roads has been closed but the interstates are fine.
Yeah, what's up with the Astro Lounge and the club in Green River? DD, if you go to Rock Springs can you detour and send a report?
The other club is the Astro Lounge, it also provides dancer housing. I've heard not to even bother with Green River but this is all hearsay.
I will probably check out both clubs but from what I've heard it sounded like the Millennium suited me better.
Also, Rock Springs is filled with oil workers that are shipped into town to work the oil fields (making it hard to get a hotel room). The customer base isn't really guys from Salt Lake City.
If I make it out there I will provide a report, no prob ;)
^ I would appreciate a report...I'll be down there eventually.
Do not stay in the motel rooms that Astro provides unless you want drunk Mexican oil drillers chasing you across the parking lot to your room, and then banging on the door and calling your room all night. And they do a great job of cleaning the rooms, there was blood all over the wall in the kitchen in mine.
Be sure you have a reservation before you go. With all the oil workers staying in motels, there is not a room to be had for a hundred miles or more in any direction. The Motel 6 is not too expensive, but don't expect wifi. It is at the other end of town from the Millenium, but if you take the road that goes under the freeway by the motel and drive into town, you will eventually drive right by the Astro. The Millenium is on the same street, but it looks like it is a different street because the street takes a right turn (left if you are coming back from the Astro).
I have heard lots of negative things about the Astro's dorm. Don't even consider staying there.
The Astro attracts the younger guys. It is crowded and has three couches for lapdances. One big stage and one small stage which doesn't seem to get used. Dressing rooms are behind the stage on either side, opening directly onto the stage. Girls seemed to have fun opening the doors and pulling dancers out onto the stage while they were changing.
The Millenium attracts guys a little older. It has two big stages and a large private dance area. The doorman stands where he can watch the door and monitor the private area as well. It seems to be about half strip club and half regular bar. The dressing room is away from the stage, down a hall and around a corner.
Both clubs are one way contact. Customer has to keep his hands to the side. Neither one seems to have much hustle; the customer has to ask for a dance.
The Mast club in Green River is small and dirty. The night I was there there were two dancers and about ten guys on a Friday night. The lapdance area seemed to be at the customer's table. I was there fifteen minutes and couldn't get anyone to bring me a beer, so I left.
All observations above based on one visit each to each club.
I'd go to the Millenium again if I were going that way, but wouldn't bother to make a special trip just for that club. Most of your audience will be oil workers and miners frim the trona mine.
I-15 can be closed for blizzards between Evanston and Rock Springs, and again east of Rock Springs. So watch your weather reports. Once, years ago, I drove across Wyoming in a blizzard, and it took me three days. Now they close the road, which is better and safer.

Whoops! Came into this thread via a "Similar threads" link at the bottom of another. Mods can delete it if you think the info is of no use to dancers.
I think your post is very informative, UtahMike, thanks!
The main stage is not very big. It has two poles that are about 6" in diameter and don't spin. They put two girls at a time on stage. The side stage doesn't get used because it is a 4' by 4' portable stage, and the pole leans like someone tried to use it for pole vaulting because it's not attached to the ceiling. It spins, so it's like trying to ride a bucking bronc.
The dressing rooms are leftovers from when there were only 4 girls a night, and each had their own dressing room. There are only two left, and they are really only big enough for one person at a time. So it's easier to come to work with your hair and makeup already done, unless you want to sit on the floor.
The state of Wyoming doesn't close I-80 or I-15 until there are half a dozen accidents at once. Be very careful traveling between Cheyenne and Laramie, and over elk mountain. There is a lot of truck traffic on I-80, and people drive like maniacs no matter how bad the weather is.
I-80 was closed just a few weeks ago as my guy was driving back and got stuck. The snow was blowing. He had to spend the night, detour back to I-15 and go to I-90 to get back to South Dakota to meet me.
He was told the road had been closed a lot this winter.
Yeah, whoops, I meant I-80, not I-15.
Also, watch out for a speed trap around Green River. Mostly in Wyoming, everyone drives around 90 mph, but don't do it near Green River.
