How can thi sbe, this isn't right? How can I fix it?
Both my mother an dmy little brother are on my phone plan. I have AT&T, an dmy bro was just given a new phone from my older bro's best friend. All he did was switch the sim card and the phone worked. Now it says I owe $638.57 for internet xpres, and apparently had 5, 120 msg/kb/min included in that package , which I never ever signed up for internet access from any of the phones.
My brother says all he did was insert the sim card and go from there, but that it does say windows every time he turns the phone on. Also it says I have a $9.99 charge on my line for something called thumbplay which was downloaded to my phone on the 20th, which I don't know how to even dopwnload and have never downloaded a thing. WTF!!! What do I do?

What kind of phone is it?
If it's a windows phone go to programs, open up comm manager, and shut OFF data connection. Then call up your at&t plan and ask them to add unlimited data to your plan for the past month. If you're lucky you can call BACK in tomorrow and cancel it. Have them talk you through turning the auto connect off.
The odds are, your bro had auto connect on and every few minutes it would try to internet sync/check for connection.

ATT/Cingular, at least, has their phones set up to be able to connect with internet by default, even tho you didn't explicitly have your phone do so. My phone had no auto-conect turn-off feature. (But I get the cheapest phones, see below.) Who's charges were they, your bro's or the friend's?
My example shows how dangerou$ this deal is. I did not have my acct set with the $20/mo unlimited feature; I have computers for internet with much better human interface (I hate the phone interface and will likely get an iPhone II). After I got a huge bill, I had to call in to the co. to turn my internet connectivity turned OFF explicitly so my ex-gf couldn't play those expensive games. Said she wasn't playing them over months, which was an explicit lie. Because of the $300 lie, I had all her net connectivity turned off. I still had to pay the fees, and she hasn't reimbursed me yet. Hers won't get turned back on until I get reimbursed. Sometimes she's like a kid. I'm sure she didn't know about the monthly connectivity fee being a lot cheaper. Still she lied about her usage.
