dancing as a 2nd job
DO any of you dance to supplement you day job?
How many hours, shifts is equal to burn out?
I may be getting a better job in an area that im interested in, but still wanna dance. My club has a 3 shit min, plus a 35 hr wrk week at the day job.
DO you think it can be done while still remaining healthy and giving eniugh attention to both?

Re: dancing as a 2nd job
I danced as a second job. I dance 2-3 days week (min of 4 hours) (max of 6 hours) a shift. Then about every two months would take a week or two off dancing to feel better again. Sometimes when I was really burned out I would take a month or two off then go back when I was feeling it.
Burn out is different for each person at the beging it seemed I never really burned out but once I turned 26 I would get burned out really easy. I also work 40 a week in my day job.

A lot of women that I work with right now have jobs during the day and typically work 2-3 nights a week. I guess that just depends on you. Maybe you will be able to handle more maybe less.....

Re: dancing as a 2nd job
Go for it! The worst that could happen is that you get burnt out and/or decide it's not for you. You have nothing to lose and potentially a good deal of $$$ to gain. ;) You might end up making more $$ than most, b/c you have the security of your day job and don't have to feel pressured or panicked about making money. Money always comes to you in droves when you don't need it!
And, you can always take a week or two--or even longer--off from the club if you need a break. I always always ALWAYS took exam weeks off when I was juggling school and dancing, and I never had managers giving me a hard time about it.
