I Haven't Washed My Face In Months.
I really haven't. When I first started dancing in September I was running out of all my skin care supplies and because of my new weird schedule I kept putting off going to get them (and going to get them was a big task) and would just scrub my face quickly with a wet washcloth first thing in the morning and sometime during the night. Well, it's become routine. I have not had any sort of cleanser on my face for like, 6 months. And you know what, my skin looks like it did when I had an actual regimen, if anything, I break out less.
I had a coworker that said the only thing that cured the horrible acne he had for years was to just stop washing his face at all. I guess it does work for some people. ?

Do you use make up remover or oil?
-
Re: I Haven't Washed My Face In Months.
Nope. Very rarely I might put a little coconut oil on my face for some moisturization even though my skin isn't dry. That's about it.

Re: I Haven't Washed My Face In Months.
I used to have an acne problem, and when I went to the dermatologist, he suggested that I stop using all those facial cleansers, soaps, ect. He recomended Cetaphyl brand soaps and lotions because there are no harsh chemicals in the lotions or cleansers. When I stopped washing my face with all those other brands, my skin cleared up. There are a lot of chemicals in those face soaps that will interact with your skins natural oils. It will mess up your skin tone and clog your pores. Water and a mild, mild soap is the best. I don't wash my face as much as I used to because some oils on your skin help keep out dirt which cause pimples and blackheads and such. Also, scrubbing isn't good for your face. It will stretch our your pores and your skin will lose elasticity quicker. Just my two cents. :D

Just water right? I do this too and I rarely get breakouts. If I do get a pimple, it's only one.

Re: I Haven't Washed My Face In Months.
It's also a much cheaper regimen I must say lol. I was spending a couple hundred on facial cleansing supplies every few months before.

How do you take your make up off??

Re: I Haven't Washed My Face In Months.
The washcloth scrubs pretty good. A lot of times I sleep in eyeliner and mascara (I'm sure that's not good) and it'll smudge into my skin. It'll always come out after scrubbing with water, but if I'm in a rush I'll use a little coconut oil.

Re: I Haven't Washed My Face In Months.
Some of my friends hate me when I say this but...
I never wash my face and I have perfect skin. I only wash it once or twice a week with some generic soap and a washcloth to remove eyemakeup (I very very rarely wear powder and I NEVER wear foundation). I put lotion under my eyes to combat the effect of tanning/aging, and I also use MAC's strobe cream or whatever it's called a few times a week.
But everyone's skin is different.

lol I'm embarrassed to admit this, but there were a lot of times where I would just get up and not wash my face...and just go to school, because I was too damn sleepy or had no time.

Lol. My skin is always really greasy when I wake up so I have to remove it, but if it wasn't I'd just wake up and leave too.

Re: I Haven't Washed My Face In Months.
I still pretty much always have a blemish of some kind on my face (but I also HAVE to pick at them and take it upon myself to remove blackheads no one but me with my face an inch from the mirror can see) and I don't wash my face.
Occasionally I will with baking soda because it'll just feel weird to me, and needs to be washed off with more than water.
Honestly, I don't even wash it in the morning or at night, just in the shower.
I've found that when I wash my face all the time it just gets oilier faster and breaks out more. Also it'll dry out certain places like my nose really bad so it gives be combination type skin which is way worse to take care of as compared to just oily.
I use baby oil to remove my eye make up, and thats it.

What was that home remedy to remove eye makeup again that someone said on here? Vinegar?

It might be improving acne (I dont know) but leaving make-up on your face esp eye make-up is not good for your skin - re. aging. Also its bad for your eyes to sleep with eye make up on. I wouldn't recommend it.

Re: I Haven't Washed My Face In Months.
Yeah, you just put a little in your hand, dab it on your eyelid, and the makeup just wipes off. I love it--it's much better then using some product that makes you have to pull and tug at the eye area.

Re: I Haven't Washed My Face In Months.
Man... thinking about Vinegar in the eye just made my eyes cringe! ouch!!
When I run out of my Arbonne products (which I love but can no long afford) I'm switching back to washclothes and warm water.

Re: I Haven't Washed My Face In Months.
Lol I don't even bother to let the water get warm.

Re: I Haven't Washed My Face In Months.
Our water gets scalding hot in 2 seconds so I'll barely be able to wet the wash cloth probably, ha.
Cold water on the face is the best first thing in the AM. So refreshing.

You're lucky! I gotta wait a sec for mine to warm up. At my last place, it took foreverrrrrrr.

Re: I Haven't Washed My Face In Months.
woohoo, I'm not strange for not washing my face! :P I figured that out after I had septoplasty and didn't wash my face for two weeks b/c my nose and the area around it was all swollen and hurting. Then I realized my skin actually looked better than it had in years!
I like jojoba oil for removing eye makeup (olive oil works too if I'm out of jojoba), sunscreen and bare minerals foundation for work, and vitamin C serum mixed into vitamin E cream for around my eyes post-makeup-removal. Occasionally I'll use a natural sugar scrub to exfoliate.

Re: I Haven't Washed My Face In Months.
I wonder what skin types do better with not washing? I'm oily/combination.

Re: I Haven't Washed My Face In Months.
It's been around two weeks since I made this thread, and my skin is even clearer. I have only one breakout deep in my chin, it's not noticeable.
I haven't worn foundation in over two weeks and I think that's really helped. The foundation I was using was oil free and non-comedogenic but I've had it for a long time, so maybe the 'oldness' of it was making me breakout. But I haven't been wearing any foundation and wiping my face down briefly with a wet washcloth twice a day and my skin hasn't looked this clear in a long long time. ;D
