Uggg .... take large project and don't dance in 4/08 or dance in 4/08 ?, denver/sf
I realized I was never going to be able to dance if I kept my workload high at my other gig. I've turned a couple projects down to make time to dance . Now ..... I have a big project being offered. I'm so burnt out on what I am doing ( hence wanting to lighten up on it and do some dancing ) , but now after reading all these " I'm not averaging more than $200 a night posts " , I'm really tempted to take the non-dancing project and just be guaranteed the cash.
I would dance in Denver or San Francisco 2-3 weekends in the month .
So ..... any newbies in these areas that are doing $300-$400+ averages a shift ? Tell me your good money making stories. I feel pretty confident I could get hired in a "medium level " club, but not a "top club" where everyone is a walking barbie.
Or ..... if things are really that bad , maybe I should just take this other boring gig ( gag ) . I just can not seem to hit the stage because I don't know how much I'll make in a night and this is a hurdle I can't seem to get past. I guess there is only one way to find out . I just don't want to find out by leaving with less than $300..... ;)
I do have flight benefits , so air tickets don't cost me anything for San Francisco. To Denver I only pay $30. My costs are around $50 a night for hotel ( using priceline and hotwire ) and public transit for SF or a cheap car in denver .
It just seems like things have taken such a downturn in the dancing market that maybe I should just be damn thankful for my other gig even if I am bored of it.
UPDATE AFTER 4/11/08 - I FINALLY AUDITIONED and HAVE BEEN WORKING IN SAN FRANCISCO ! ;)

Are you moving soon or something? Utah to Denver to San Fran?
Everyone's earning potential is different depending on their hustle in that specific environment. You could go in there and make 400$ consistently. Just because some girls aren't doesn't mean you cant. How much do you need to make a week/month to live comfortably. You could always pick up shorter shifts to make up for a day you don't make your goal.

I live in Utah, but don't want to dance here . Since I can fly for free, it's easy to dance somewhere else. I'm familiar with Denver / SF because of non-dancing business travel to each place. Basically , I would need to average $300-$350 MIN. take home to make it worthwhile . I'd actually love the # to be higher , but being new , I want to be realistic ( if that is in fact realistic ) . If I could work two nights and make $600 after hotel costs or work three and make $900 after hotel costs, I could do that . If those #'s are not realistic, I should just stick to my other gig and my home pole .
