unlikely places to find clothes for work?
I just started working & thought all of the stuff at the local lingerie/porn stores looked soooo costumey. So I went to American Apparel & loaded up on neon hot shorts, thongs, bras...I just love the simplicity & the colors. I'm a flat chested skinny tall girl so it's hard for me to find bras that look good & fit. Places like Victoria's Secret & most of the cute stuff at Nordstrom doesn't come in my size.
Do any of you guys have reccommendations for cute outfits (or just bras & bottoms; I work at a bikini bar) that are flattering & not costumey (especially those that come in 32A haha)?

TJ Maxx..they have randomly cute lingerie type things.

Re: unlikely places to find clothes for work?
Kids clothes can be cute, I know it sounds a bit weird but if your slim built and have a small chest kids clothes can look really hot, especially if your going for the 'lolita' look. I once bought a kids cheerleading costume and because it was a bit small it looked really hot, the skirt was super short and the top became a tiny cop top, it was also much cheaper than buying an adult costume.

Ross Outlets (a West Cost chain of discount new apparel) ....I got a cute Betsey Johnson lingerie set that I use at work at Ross, people love it
The seasonal Halloween stores carry some costumes you can use year-round for work..no shit. Cheap fabric though.

Re: unlikely places to find clothes for work?
I've worked in two bikini bars, I'm tall and an a-cup. I don't know if you like this type of thing but I have a few short black low-cut vests similar to these:
and I would pair them with a solid-colored matching g-string. My torso is really long and thin and the vest would help to sort of chop it up and make my proportions look more pleasant. I got them at local clothing stores.

im not a big fan of non club clothes in the club but have worn some of Hot Topics stuff from time to time.

Re: unlikely places to find clothes for work?
I wear everything from real lingerie to costumes to fetish wear to spandex stripper gear, and then some. So I shop all over the place too.
Discount stores like Ross, TJ Maxx, and Marshalls. Teen oriented stores like Charlotte Russe and Anchor Blue. Target and WalMart. Costume supply shops. High end department stores. Hot Topic and other punk/subcultural oriented shops. Fetish stores. Outlet malls.
Teaching yourself to sew is a worthwhile investment since it'll save you $ + you'll have stuff no one else does!

I have two school girl outfits, one from a pricey stripper wear store and one from Walmart I threw together after forgetting the first on a trip, go figure I do better in the Walmart one. The pricey one is a 5" plaid skirt, tie/collar combo, and a halter/blouse contraption. My Walmart one is a little girls medium MaryKate+Ashley skirt, little boys uniform shirt and a black tie. I guess it looks more "authentic?." I wear it with a red pushup bra from Target.
I buy stuff in the kids department all the time, although I did notice the Walmart by my house just finally started stocking xs 0/2 sizes (which is like a real life size 4/6) so I can maybe wear adult stuff now, just sweats and some cute $5 beach shorts.

Re: unlikely places to find clothes for work?
^^^It was just born out of laziness for me. I wore the vest with jeans into work one day and didn't feel like putting anything else on so I just took off my pants and realized......damn....I like this look.

Re: unlikely places to find clothes for work?
I buy my thigh highs from walmart... ALTHOUGH, I'M REALLY FUCKIN PISSED CUZ THEY NO LONGER SELL THE BEST FISHNET THIGH HIGHS I EVER FOUND! I like to wear skirts a lot(booty shorts+me=not hot lol) and I'll go to hot topic, kohls, wet seal, charlotte russe, ect..... find one i like, and then just cut it to be "stripper short" lol. Also, I go for that whole "punk" look so I like the look of the edges of the skirt.....

I buy half my undies at Ross. From time to time they have decent, cheap thongs and booty shorts.

Re: unlikely places to find clothes for work?
Little teenager hoochie stores will often have dresses and skirts that you can wear to the club. I've picked up stuff at wetseal and forever21. It doesn't last as long quality wise, you get what you pay for. For a $20 dress I don't mind only being able to wear it a couple times before it rips.

I totally agree. I go to the most hoochie teenage populated mall and get a ton of slutty clothes that seem to work great at work. I only go once in a while though because I really can't stand this mall and their clientelle much more than 20 minutes.

Re: unlikely places to find clothes for work?
I'm super cheap, even when it comes to stripper clothing. But I know that's not for everyone.
Suggestions:
Some online sites have cute bikinis or not too costume-y outfits
Target
Wal-Mart (even though I think they're evil, their underwear is cute and cheap)
Marshall's (may require some searching for good items)
eBay
and a great idea, especially for a petite girl is to take a man's long wife-beater (the sleeveless ribbed tank tops) and cut out the middle section so that your boobs are barely covered and the bottom half makes a cute skirt. This will only last a short time if you don't hem it though but it's so cheap who cares.

Re: unlikely places to find clothes for work?
I've found the local flea market has a lot of dance wear really cheap!
-
Re: unlikely places to find clothes for work?
Rave Junior - its a kids store with really cheap slutty clothes for those moms who like to dress their children like hookers. Great for strippers... They have an adult Rave but I find the childrens one to be much sluttier...

Joyce Leslie thongs are the most comfy I've ever worn. It was 4 for $10.
I never thought of children's costumes - that's great!

Re: unlikely places to find clothes for work?
I stole that link from Sophia, but I went bikini shopping yesterday and went to Old Navy and they had the same type of top and shorts for $40, but it only comes in silver. You bet your ass I bought it and am wearing it tonight! If I'm feeling frisky later, I may just post a picture :)
