How can i get a visa for USA?
Hi everyone, I'm Sasha *waves* (new to the community). I'm finding all the great info on here really helpful! Thanks ladies! I'm an Aussie girl currently living and working in Canada (legally with a visa and a license) but would LOVE to go and do some work at a great club in New York City or even Vegas. Is there some way to hook up a temporary visa? Does anyone know of any good luxe clubs that help with this? I don't really want to do it illegally and get deported or anything because I have plans to do more travel in the states this year. Thanks in advance xx S

Afaik to be totally "legal" you need a Green Card and a Work Permit. Apply at the U.S. Consulate and be prepared to W A I T. Vegas clubs are VERY tough on Immigration status. NYC too. Some of the nude & extras clubs couldn't care less.
Re: How can i get a visa for USA?
I wouldn't say that you are planning on working as a stripper on the visa app. Do you plan on studying in the US? That is probably the easiest visa to get is a work/study visa.
You might ask Gold Coast Girl. She is more knowledgeable about traveling to the US from Australia than I am.
Re: How can i get a visa for USA?
If you only wanted to go temporarily (ie. up to six months) you would need a work/travel visa (J1 visa). Its really hard to get it just on your own but there are companies such as BUNAC that can arrange it for you as a summer abroad program and they make it a whole lot easier. On that sort of program you could stay in the US and work for however many months legally.
You can also come to the US legally on a study visa but that by itself doesn't allow you to work legally. I had to apply for an extra work authorization on top of my study visa when I moved here.
Let me know if I can help you with anything! :)
Re: How can i get a visa for USA?
Thanks for the quick replies guys! It's all helpful info but I was thinking more along the lines of a couple of weeks. I know that agency Thebestdancers.com has a system where they book international gigs for girls and help them get the visa for a usually a month or so ( I think the club sponsors the visa or validates it and the girl pays $500 or something in legal fees) and I know they are currently booking in philly but I kinda had my heart set on NYC. Do you guys know of any other agencies like this one? What would happen if i went in on a tourist visa and just rocked up? Would i just get shut down or are they likely to say "well you're here and you're cute I guess you can work a few days or weeks or whatever"? Is that really immoral?
Re: How can i get a visa for USA?
^^I think it's less a question of morality than one of legality. I won't do it. I'm too worried about the consequences, although I'd love to go work somewhere hot for a few weeks. I think thebestdancers said they'd run out of visas for 2008. They do have those student summer work abroad visas, but you need to prove you're a fulltime student. Tricky tricky.
At the very least, it'd probably be easier to set your sights on a place where they don't require a license. I have known girls around here who go down and work NYC and Miami. It's possible, but you have to weigh the risks carefully. Me, I'm paranoid.
Re: How can i get a visa for USA?
Rule Number 1 on a VISA application is DO NOT LIE!!!!!!!!!!!!
You don't have to say stripper, you can use dancer.
Look in the left section VISAS (Foreign Citizens). http://www.state.gov/travelandbusiness/

The fact of the matter is that the USA has enacted really stringent ID check requirements as a result of the Patriot Act ... which translates into heavy fines for 'employers' caught hiring 'workers' that do not have legal working papers. Therefore all 'corporate' clubs in America are now extremely diligent about checking the legality of potential new workers. Where NYC is concerned, this means that corporate clubs like Scores / Penthouse Exec Club / Flashdancers chain / Lace chain are not going to touch a new dancer who does not have legal working papers. A- they can't afford the negative publicity if they were to be busted for illegal workers, and B- they don't have to resort to hiring girls without legal working papers in order to have enough 'hot' dancers.
Yes there are certainly 'privately owned' clubs in the NYC area that won't bat an eyelash at hiring a 'hot' dancer with or without legal working papers. However, these clubs typically won't bat an eyelash about other illegal activities either i.e. prostitution, drugs etc. These 'privately owned' clubs don't have stockholders / investors to answer to (at least not 'legal' ones LOL), so they are inclined to allow just about anything to go on as long as it earns more money for the club in the short run.

Privately owned clubs? The only one that comes to mind is Cafe Mystique or what ever the hell it's called.
Rick's, Cheetah, Hustler are all chain..... even the smaller joints are usually affiliated with larger clubs (like Flash has a couple of smaller sister clubs.....)
Can you please elaborate? :worship:

To answer your question.... you go through the process... like all good law abiding people. http://www.usimmigrationsupport.org/index.html
Clubs won't help you... they have no need to stick their necks out for a random girl, no matter how cute she is. There is enough scrutiny on clubs as it stands from many legal angles (gov't, licensing, vice, etc.). You are on your own. If you're ducks aren't all neatly lined up in a row you will face quite a hassle... and probably a rejection.

Yes. It is immoral.... really. I don't appreciate bitches "rocking up" and expecting jobs to be handed to them on a platter. There are enough USA dancers (and international dancers WITH papers) in NYC as it is... there is no need for clubs to bend, or break the rules for a girl. Everyone is watching their own ass.
So enjoy Philly. Best of luck.
Re: How can i get a visa for USA?
thanks for the heads up guys, I'll def do some more research, cheers xx
Re: How can i get a visa for USA?
PS I'm sure there are plenty of wonderful, beautiful women working in NYC, I certainly wasn't trying to imply that there wasn't. It was just an idea I was researching and I didn't mean to upset anyone.
Re: How can i get a visa for USA?
This is something i've been on a mission to do for the last year now.
The only way to do it is to be sponsored by a club or agency. Its a huge headache with a lot of red tape.
I've been trying to get my work visa to feature in the US. I've had a few clubs and agencies offer to sponsor me now. Its just a matter of me getting my stuff together on this end.

I've met several Australians that told me about some sort of temp green card lottery to work in the US?
Re: How can i get a visa for USA?
if you work illegal you dance in a city where they don't require dance licences. and then try to get hired at a club that doesn't ask alot of questions. i know alot of girls that have done that. i could never take the chance myself. it's a risk, if you get caught you'll be deported and banned from the country. and maybe face fines to the IRS.
Re: How can i get a visa for USA?
