Question about flights to Barbados from USA & UK
I wondered if any of you lovely SW people could help me out by giving me rough quotes for return flights to Barbados from which ever city in either country.
Ive tried searching from this end but its proving to be difficult.
I am planning a trip to both the UK and America (hopefully traveling right across the USA) hopefully within the next 12ish months and I want to include a trip to Barbados as one side of my family comes from there. I dont care which country I fly from, it all comes down to the best deal :)
Edited to add my list of cities:
USA
My incomplete list:
Seattle
Portland
Mount Rushmore
Salt lake City
San Fransisco
Los Angeles
Las Vegas
The Grand Canyon
Dallas
New Orleans
Somewhere in Pensylvania
Memphis
St Louis
Washington DC
New York
Detroit
Chigago
I think Ive missed a couple and theres always a chance I might add some moore too. It depends somewhat in time verses $.
UK
Is small enough for me to travel to any airport if there was a bargin flight :) Im from the south east though so will be spanding most of my time down that way.
Re: Question about flights to Barbados from USA & UK
From US, pretty much American Airlines has a hub out of San Juan, PR that I'm sure will fly there, as San Juan is a hub for AA for the caribbean. That would be my starting point, though, i don't know where in the US you plan on flying from to get to Barbados.
Re: Question about flights to Barbados from USA & UK
^^^Ill go from anywhere, it doesnt really matter as Ill be travelling all over the place hopefully.
I was told a couple of years ago (here) that Id have to fly from Florida, but Florida is not on my list of places I want to go to if i can help it.
Re: Question about flights to Barbados from USA & UK
Not sure if you're coming to NYC or not, but I looked on Travelocity. From NYC (any of the airports) to Barbados (all with a stop in either Miami or PR) , next month (you didn't say when) runs a little under $500.
Re: Question about flights to Barbados from USA & UK
^^^Thank you Rose! - Thats good to know as thats cheaper than the UK flights I found. Part of the problem is Im not sure if it would be cheaper to go from the UK or US.
Maybe I should write out my list of cities I want to visit, lol. There are so many and I keep adding to it! NY is on the list though for sure!
Ok, list of cities added to OP.
Re: Question about flights to Barbados from USA & UK
Ouch! boston isn't on that list :P~
I need to do something on this, best-bet is usually to leave from a Hub city if possible. Though NY is busy enough, Chicago, Detroit, Dallas and Chicago are all Hub cities for one airline or another, so I would go from there...
I know I have free time at work,. so I'll look around there too
Re: Question about flights to Barbados from USA & UK
I went to Barbados twice last year with the family and flew direct from NYC on Air Jamacia and the other time on American. We liked the Air Jamaica flight soooo much better and were able to upgrade into 1st class for just a few extra dollars.
PM with anything else you'd like to know. I've got a great list of places to eat, things to do, car rentals, etc. and a wonderful house you could rent right on Mullins Beach on the West Coast.

PS - my avatar is the view from the deck of the house we rented on Barbados at sunset.
