Small club vs. large club...
I'm hoping to move to a LARGE club this summer, but the only clubs I've worked at until now have been small (as in, I've NEVER worked with more than 15 dancers at a time, nor have I ever been in a club with more than a 200 customer capacity). How is the hustle different in a large, high-volume club?
Re: Small club vs. large club...
Alot more competition but more of a wanna dance type of deal.
Re: Small club vs. large club...
Believe it or not, I've found that there is alot less drama at the bigger clubs. I guess because of the higher-volume, the girls don't really have time to focus on one another.
Re: Small club vs. large club...
Yup ALOT less drama .Small clubs tend to get the "family everyone knows each other" type of deal. While big clubs your usually are always busy .Approching a new customer ,giving a dance ,etc...In small clubs it gets slow evryone starts talking to each, you know their whole life story, blah blah blah.
Re: Small club vs. large club...
I think in a larger club you do less talking and more dancing. Like the other poster stated it's more of "wanna dance" environment.

Hell yeah. Everybody's not on top of everybody else.
You don't have to be as nice to customers either because in a big club you're less likely to see them again hee hee. }:D
Re: Small club vs. large club...
That sounds AWESOME!!! The club I work in now, the customers will get mad at you if you don't sit with them for 4-5 songs, and then when you "pop the question" and they say no, they try to grab your arm and gt pissy with you when you start to move on.
I want more of a volume club.
And incidentally, just kind of wondering on this... I've heard several people say stuff like, "Just because you're a top earner in the Midwest doesn't mean you'll be a top earner in Vegas," or something similar. Is this because of the adjustment from small club to large club hustle? Or is it something else? And how difficult is it to adjust to a large club hustle?
Re: Small club vs. large club...
a larger club has more potential, hopefully has more customers, but also requires a harder hustle.
i've seen less experienced girls get swallowed up by a larger club, so you MUST make sure your confidence level is 100% there when you work a big club. in a small club you dont have to always be on top of your game but at a large club, esp. a high volume large club, being on top of your game is a must.
for years i worked in a smaller club, and it really honed my hustle to be able to find a way to make money with 15 girls and 8-10 customers. by the time i hit a big club, i knew how to work a room, regardless of the type of crowd.
it's important to recognize your shortcomings as a hustler before hitting a big club and work on them day in and day out at a smaller club, like, for example, how often you mention VIP, or how long you talk to a custy for before popping the Q. shtuff like that is massively important at a high volume big club.
oh, ya, fully agree, less drama!

See, this is what I've heard MANY times, and maybe I'm just not getting it, but it's not making a lot of sense to me... I have about two "regulars", and they're not worth more than an extra hundred a week or so. Beyond that, EVERYONE I approach is a "fresh up". Now this is coming from someone who has NEVER worked a large club, so I'm probably totally off, but this is my perception on this--please tell me how I'm wrong:
1. Working in high-volume clubs requires a much quicker hustle. You have to greet the client, establish rapport, and make the sale in under 2 songs. Any longer than that and you're losing money. This can be a GOOD thing if you're a quick hustler, but it can be a BAD thing if you're used to a slower, more casual hustle, so I wouldn't be doing nearly as well as the other girls in the large club. Of course, I wouldn't be doing WORSE than I would in my small club, would I?
2. Working in large clubs would mean that you might be "invisible" to the support staff. In a small club, my manager is always chatting up the customers and building rapport with them, and he'll often bring me over to introduce me to the customers. That sort of thing would never happen in a large club, so it would be up to me to get my OWN customers.
3. House fees and tipouts in a large club would likely be higher than in a small club. Therefore, if I don't adjust my hustle and make the same amount in a large club as in a small club, I would actually walk out with far less money because more of my cash would go to house and tipout.
Is that right? Or is there more to it than that?

except in a big club if there are under 20 customers, i'd give it 3-5 minutes. but, you could do worse. you could fail completely. i mean, anything's possible, although i truly doubt you'd be that unprepared that you'd fail 100% and be worse off.

not necessarily. it depends on what kind of girl you are, and how close you become with the manager. like, at my home club, my manager and i were tight enough that he'd bring me over after chatting up and building rapport. the manager before that would do the same, but the manager we first opened with didn't care, so i mean, it's a toss up. but, yeah, you are DEFINITELY on your own anywhere for getting customers. you can NEVER rely on anyone else. but you can do things to help it along: like as soon as you get to a big club, pay attention to who goes to get the girls that make money (some hosts are worthless but act like they do tons of work) and approach them, and tell them that you're definitely all about tipping them each time they get you a customer, at the very least 10%. they like hearing that.

yes and no, i mean, that's a club by club basis. i've worked in small clubs with huge housefees where i was making shit and low housefees in a large club. so, case by case.
Re: Small club vs. large club...
i think its not about the size of club, it s about dance price , percentage you get, and how comfortable u r. i like small club better (less than 20 girls club), easy to get regular, less competitions.
now i work in a big club at the moment has about 50 girls, i make the same amount of money when i was in the small club

I think it has more to do with your hustle and the area. This winter at one club in Jersey, I was either a top earner or close to it most of the time. Two weeks later, at a similarly-sized (small) club outside Phoenix, I was bombing. Same hustle, same size club, different results.
In Denver last year, I used a less experienced version of the same hustle at a mid-sized club, and did quite well.
It's about how well you can get along with a given club's clientele and their expectations.
