Fuck you Mike! A rant about my DJ
I just dont get it. Not really. Having a good night last night... la de da. Whatever. Go tip the DJ. Standing there talking to another girl who says how shitty it is here and I said - yea, this club is shitty and next thing you know Im getting the rath of Mike. From what I partially understand :
1) Its girls like me that make this club shit (i.e. Because I work at other clubs too)
2) Its my fault girls work weekends in Reno (uh, right cuz Im the only stripper in Sacramento that knows about Reno) ::)
3) Im a "fucking bitch" and shouldnt be calling this shithole a shithole (1/2 the girls last night were calling this place shitty)
4) He doesnt want me there and was pissed that I came back.
5) 4 hours before he had been talking about how much he hates me and doesnt want me there to the manager.
After screaming at eachother for 15 minutes I left. What Im really confused about is I thought he liked me. I had no clue how he felt about me and it really hurt my feelings. I was crying as I was yelling at him. He told me not to come back. I told him he can go fuck himself and if he wants me fired then he should just get me fired. Which his response is "Im not going to get you fired" Uhm or you already tried FOUR HOURS AGO and it didnt work so now youre trying to piss me off to get my to quit? I will say the manager and 2 bouncers were there hearing the whole thing and the only thing they said was "keep your voices down".
He moaned and groaned about this shit a year ago before I left. He was complaining about other girls but now its me too. My assumption is he thought this last year Ive been working in Reno and has no clue why I came back to this shithole and hates the fact that I make money. I have no clue but I think hes dilusional.
Originally I told him I'll be back tonite just in spite of him because he really pissed me off. I have no idea. Im probably not going to go in but want to just to fuck with him. Then again Im thinking of calling or going in to talk to the manager.
I dunno... Im so confused, I really have no clue. It really doesnt even make sense to me and Im a pretty sensible person as in even if your point makes no sense I get what youre saying. With him I just dont get it. I *think* he doesnt like the fact that all the pretty, good hustlers work here during the week and go to Reno weekends so hes left with all the crappy girls. But I dont get why hes taking this out on me. Before I left I was working there weekends and not weekdays. /:O But Im also guessing the manager told him (when he asked about me being back) that Im only here during the week and wont be here weekends which send him over the edge?
Does this even make any sense? I think I just confused myself even more.... well, thanks for reading...

Re: Fuck you Mike! A rant about my DJ
My guess is that he's just jealous that you have to option to go to Reno and make better money and he's not a good enough DJ to score himself a gig bigger than a shitty Sac club.

Ok, so I edited out the two things in your post that make the LEAST sense to me.
A DJ being able to get away with calling you a "fucking bitch"....I mean actually using those words and having a bouncer overhear it? And doing nothing about it? Sorry, but yes sounds like the making of a shithole to me. I mean I am well aware that SC's aren't exatly a place that one would come seeking the upmost respect and political correctness all the time, but COME ON! What gives these fucks a right to think they can talk to women this way? Oh yeah, that's right, it's the management that not only overpays them, but puts them up on a pedastal and lets them get away with that shit. If management found out a DJ talked to any girl this way at my place, he'd get canned. I've already seen it happen once and I've only been there a month!
What's even more baffling is a DJ being pissed that a dancer MAKES MONEY??? Wait a minute, don't they make more of we make more? Last time I checked, that's the way it was. Him not liking you cause of some pissy shit, stupid, petty reason and not wanting you to make money only means less money for him. Umm, can you say dumbass!?! If you are a money maker, and he was smart, he'd keep his mouth shut, sit back and collect your tipout, change his tampon and get over it. Way to go buddy...you're a real winner....scare off or piss off the girls who pay you the most.
Hope everything resolves itself for your sake. Meanwhile, I hope "Mike" finally graduates high school, gets some birth control to fix his PMS, and shuts the fuck up.

Audrey:
I am sorry that's happening. What a jerk. That was uncalled for. You're gorgeous. if you go somewhere there's better money on weekends I don't blame you. not appropriate of him. You pay him, and the manager.....I really feel it's like this....the club and him are your employees. Tell him that next time, maybe tip less? Just random thoughts.

Re: Fuck you Mike! A rant about my DJ
Oh next time I work with him Im going to give him a quarter. I swear.
Yea, hes mad at me because I go to Reno to make money.
My thoughts. Had he said "Audrey, were really needing some quality girls on the weekends. Id love for you to work this weekend" Id totally have worked there this weekend. I dont HAVE to go to Reno. You get more with sugar than vinegar and hes really made me mad.
Not mad enough to not work there just mad and confused...

Re: Fuck you Mike! A rant about my DJ
He sounds like a mean drunk or cokehead who just went off at random. His complaints make no sense.

Re: Fuck you Mike! A rant about my DJ
I have seen this happen in several clubs and my take on it was:
By insulting the club - the dj took it personally, after all he works there too.
I dont know if the dj is in the room or partitioned off but if ANY customers could hear your complaints - it can be considered "bad for business".
Much of the dj's rant at you is from the frustration of working a struggling club.
After all if it is such a poor club to work why are you there?
Negativity in any fashion is highly contagious. It can infect staff, other dancers and eventually customers.
Now NONE of this deserves a blasting from the dj but sincerely, think about your words and how they can cause such harm, even if you are sounding off to release your own disappointment - you are spreading that very negative power....
Had you just paid out and left - none of this would have gone down, maybe?
Personality conflicts excepted?
-
Re: Fuck you Mike! A rant about my DJ
I say go back. It seems like you like it there during the week more than doing hair. Maybe one weekend a month there, only if they are good to you (management-not dj).
-
Re: Fuck you Mike! A rant about my DJ
Fuck him. If he had said all of that to me I would have said: "That's nice." and walked away with his tip. Definitely go back to fuck with him and tip him a quarter.
I've worked with a DJ who would sort of flip like that, it was obvious that he did not like his job or the girls(I couldn't blame him on that one) and he would YELL like a madman. Never at me though, lucky for him.

Totally get what youre saying and 100% agree but all this happened after closing. No customers could hear. Actually, I talk very well about the club to customers. Theyll mention how run down the place is and Ill say yea it is but the girls, djs and management is great, etc.
I wasnt complaining about the club. The other girl said this is shitty (as in she didnt make any money) All I did was agree with her and I get yelled at. Not her, not any other girl who said anything. Me. Thats what pissed me off - had it been a rant in the DR to all the girls, fine but to just go after me? That set me off.
And yea, he did take it personally but honestly - like I said to him - look around dude. I wasnt the one complaining - I did well - all I did was agree (pretty much to make other dancer feel better, she didnt know how much I made) and I got rath o mike...
What really hurt and upset me was that he said to me that had complained to management hours ago so the whole problem wasnt about my 'shitty club' comment. It was more about my not working there weekends - about how I work here during the week but go to Reno weekends. He thinks if I work there then I should always work there, not go away on weekends. The agreement with the other dancer was just like a reason to yell at me about how much he hates me. The worst part is I thought he really liked me! Thats what hurt so much... that he disliked me so much when Ive been nothing but nice to him....

Like I said.... had he (or the manager or anyone!) said hey, were short girls weekends, can you work here instead of going out of town? I would have been like ok and worked there every other or something (probably would have anyway, without being asked!) but now fuck him, Im only working there Tues-Thurs and he can kiss my ass! :-*

Re: Fuck you Mike! A rant about my DJ
I'd rather deal with the openly aggressive DJ's than the passive types. The passive types can really fuck with your money more subtly.
I'd rather have dealt with that DJ, than the one that played my gothic self the chipmonks and Under the sea from the movie the little mermaid. That was really very unprofessional.
And so was what he said to you.
Good luck, and please don't cry over idiots like this, they are not worth your tears.

WTF? I would have lost it on him. How on earth did this happen??

Re: Fuck you Mike! A rant about my DJ
on a Friday night around midnight. He told me he thought it would be "fun". I asked him to play some newer music the young guys would like.
I stripped immediately down to bare skin, even took off the boots and danced in striped socks and g
My set sucked, but afterward guys tipped me out of sympathy because of the dj's music choices.
he got fired not long after that little snafu.

Re: Fuck you Mike! A rant about my DJ
What an ass. Someone isnt happy with their station in life and is taking it out on you. He knows he isnt a good enough DJ to command more tips or get a job at a better club..but of course that isnt HIS fault...its YOURS for not being there enough and complaining.
I'd talk to management if you are good with them. Esp since hes been running his mouth to them too.
And never EVER tip him more then the minimum again...nothing if there is no minimum. Someone who talks to you like that doesnt deserve to be rewarded for it.
Piss off button pusher. (not an insult to ALL DJ's before I'm slammed...but it seems like he's not areal DJ....just a button pusher)

Re: Fuck you Mike! A rant about my DJ
well then he is of a different ilk then. then I think of Pink FLoyd, the Wall album, that song (and video) where the teacher's wife is just ragging on him, then he goes to the school and makes life hell for the kids.
so maybe this dj has a screeching wife, or still lives with his aging domineering mom (think the woman from THROW MAMA FROM THE TRAIN) or was that Potsie in school that couldnt run fast enough to escape the beats from being such a fucking loogan everyday so NOW he thinks he's pimp-daddy running a harem and treats the dancers like shit, the only power (puh-lease) he's ever experienced and lashing out at whoever or even picking a fave to plague for no good reason gives him and his cocktail weiner a stiffie.
If he wasnt in your club maybe he'd be that creepy stoopid fuck who wipes boogers on doorhandles unbeknownst to the next person using the door and watches from his car at the mall to get his stiffie there.
Maybe you and the girls should all wipe a booger on the only dollar tip you each give him at the end of shift.

Re: Fuck you Mike! A rant about my DJ
im sorry that happend ** shares my tears**. i hate when dj's screw stuff up for someone who gives them money.
talking to the manager could be a good thing. he won't mess with you anymore. but you will forever feel his anger towards you. i don't think you should leave yet.
-
Re: Fuck you Mike! A rant about my DJ
I bet if you go back he'll play you the worst music on purpose.

I ended up not going in last night - only because Ive worked the last 5 days and needed a break.
When I do go in on Tuesday Im going to talk to the manager and tell him if Mike plays me crap music I will not walk onstage. Hes interesting tho - I honestly dont think hed play bad music- just send me negative vibes. Ugh, whatever.... Tuesday we have a different dj so thats cool but Mikes there Wed and Thurs so Ill just have to deal with him, and stay as far away as possible.

Re: Fuck you Mike! A rant about my DJ
I hate it when there is a conflict with the DJ. That really sucks. He was totally out of line going to the manager like that. I would just kinda downplay it unless he starts playing bad music or something. I
f he says anything to you, I would be as civilized as possible while telling him exactly what you told us here. That if he would have been mature about the whole thing and just ask you to work the weekend (instead of bitching to your manager behind your back ) you would have worked the weekend. Sure bitching him out would make you feel better, but it totally blows to have a DJ that REALLY hates you.
-
Re: Fuck you Mike! A rant about my DJ
And I havent been there in 10 months!!! WTF?! Im there 2 hours and hes complaining that he hates me... I think he has issues... Im not upset over it anymore... Im just telling myself theres something wrong with him... theres nothing I can do/could have done to rectify the situation so Ill just have to live with it.

Re: Fuck you Mike! A rant about my DJ
This is by NO MEANS a justification of his actions but..... Sometimes when you know a club is crap (as a dj) and you keep hearing EVRYONE else saying how its crap, yet you have to be the face and the voice of the club and try to stay up beat as Rome burns..it kinda gets to ya. Thats why I do my best to avoid club drama but as we all know...dj=club shrink so maybe is was just an overload of negative vibes, it happens.

my husband comes every night after a lot of drama and just sits and stares at the wall with a beer for a while. It is like watching a survivor off a shipwreck.
He probably knows more crap about everyone in that building than I would ever wish to know. Sometimes I truly can understand why every DJ I have ever worked with that has been doing it a while is slightly crazy and in need of medication.

Yea I totally get that but it wasnt really bitching... she just mentioned as she was tipping him how shitty it was (hence why his tip is crap) and I agreed. Currently Im not sure if I am going to go back to this club. Im debating....

Re: Fuck you Mike! A rant about my DJ
I don't understand why managers expect loyalty to a club ( I mean ... I do ... it's just not a realistic expectation ). This is a short lived business and one the requires a lot of hours outside the club ( working out , eating well , doing nails, hair ect. ). You need to work where the money is the best .
On a side note: I was in Sacramento a couple of months ago for business and wanted to audition and work at a club on a Friday. If it's true that ALL the girls go to Reno , I must be really ugly or they would have been more than happy to let me work that night . Lol.
One more thought : Perhaps if the club is dying for great looking girls on the weekends, they should discreetly give top girls incentives ( like free stage fee + $$ ect. ) to be there on the weekends. Most well run businesses would think of a solution.
