"Not hiring" and "not hiring you"
So, I went club hunting in the new city last night.
The first club I went to told me to come back in a week or two, that they were totally full. The manager told me, "I had 55 girls on last Thursday, and 30 here already tonight." (8pm) This was pretty believeable, and he seemed to really want me to come back next week, "or least for day shifts."
I had a list with two other clubs on it, but two people at that first club suggested I try one that wasn't on my list, and one actually gave me directions. I drove out of my way to get there, to be told by the doorgirl that they weren't hiring. I didn't press the issue, since it looked as if knowing Spanish would have been a requirement to work there (awesome if you know Spanish, but I don't), but I did notice her asking the manager if he had talked to the new girl, like two seconds before I walked up.
Then I got horribly lost all over northern Atlanta looking for those last two clubs, and ended up not finding them, but that's a whole other story.
I hope the rest of this area isn't such a pain to get into.

Sorry you didn't have much luck. I'm sure you'll find a good place soon!
Re: "Not hiring" and "not hiring you"
That was cool of the first club to help you out with other clubs.
Re: "Not hiring" and "not hiring you"
Yeah, I thought so, too. Even though it was sort of misguided. No hablo Espanol.

How's the hunt going now?
Re: "Not hiring" and "not hiring you"
Found out where one of the clubs is last night, but it was too late to go audition. I work all weekend at my other job, so I'll go on Monday.
Next step: getting them to let me work a night to afford the $300 permit.
