As in Boulder Outdoor Survival School. I am thinking of checking out their 28-day adventure. Has anybody here done it, or another one of their courses? If so, thoughts?

My friend did it...she LOVED it. I did SCA and spent a summer in Alaska in a tent building a trail. It was awesome. You shoudl do it
What is SCA? And which one of the BOSS programs did your friend do?
I don't know which one to be honest
Student Conservation Association. I was in High school but they ahve college level programs
Ahh I am way out of college. Thx tho
there are programs for people out fo college too
you sould check them out
you could even run a group of people on a conservation effort
WAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYY too expensive! =(
Not worth the price IMO, since everything I bet they teach can be found online free and practiced in your backyard or local city park.
It probably wouldn't do me that much good anyway, since I know all the "basics" for "primitive survival", lol.
Still cool premise, and I bet they make a SHIT LOAD from city slicker type yuppies that wanna feel like they have accomplished something in life, and "really" conquered the outdoors, lol. ;)
Eh I know the basics too -- hand drill, bow drill, cordage, debris shelter -- but I have never done them in a desert environment. I think going on a survival adventure for a whole month would be a pretty amazing experience.
That said, I'm also interested in Teaching Drum in Wisconsin, which is only $800 for the month, but a totally different thing. TD is a primitive community, so it's an imnmersion program basically. No farming at all -- strictly hunter/gatherer. No modern technology.
