Cellphones In Your Club Policy
Looking for dancer & customer input here: What is policy in your club(s) for allowing cellphones inside the club? Most commonly observed seems to be OK, but actually using in clubs is frowned upon or reluctantly tolerated. I've seen very rare outright bans/front door confiscations.
Myself, I generally don't like to take them inside the club. I don't care for extra bulk, having another item to "guard", or taking a call during my fun time. Leaving back in car, or hotel room good in most cases. The exceptions are: 1) I don't like leaving in car when mandatory valet parked 2) Big city scenarios where I take subway/metro to club- want to have cell phone handy. In case #2, a coworker rode subway a ways to famous big city club only to have doorman inform him of no cell phone policy. Chalk up 1 wasted subway trip. I can understand reluctance of having patrons "sneaking" cellphone pics, plus distraction/discourtesy aspect of using adjacent to performance. Yet there are times when one wants to have cellphone available. Your experiences???

Re: Cellphones In Your Club Policy
They do not confiscate them at the door but there is no phone use allowed in the club.
They still do however. People are so incredibly rude. They will sit down at the podium and start texting on their phone. I dont understand this. Security will tell them to get off the phone if they do this.

Re: Cellphones In Your Club Policy
One of the places I work has no policy other than that they don't give a shit. The other one stictly forbids the girls to have them on the floor-with a stiff fine if you are caught. GAY in my opinion, but whatever.

Re: Cellphones In Your Club Policy
One club I visit has no phone policy for girls on the floor. One allows them to have them on the floor.
No restrictions on patrons other than banning the camera function. Never seen or heard of incidents arising out of phone rules.
I once was "caught" taking a picture of 2 girls ( with a camera belonging to one of them and at their request ). The bouncer just said " we'd rather you not to that here" but did not confiscate or prevent the pic from being taken.

Re: Cellphones In Your Club Policy
One club I go to on occasion has a large peice of foam board with an actual smashed cell phone glued to it and the words "NO Cell Phones Allowed" written in English, Spanish and Portuguese...
Most of the other places I go to have no posted policy although obvious bad behavior will bring predictable results.

Re: Cellphones In Your Club Policy
I've never worked in a club where cell phones were taken at the door, but they are ALWAYS confiscated if someone starts snapping pictures of the girls. Even if it's unintentional (like a group taking pictures of themselves). As far as the girls, my last club used to fine girls for using cells on the floor and EVEN IN THE BATHROOM! Cell phone Nazis!

Re: Cellphones In Your Club Policy
I've used my cell in the club to let dancers I know that I've arrived (or if I've been delayed). It makes it easier for them to find me, or even meet me at the door so we can get to business :)
Also, in clubs I visit regularly, I make sure to get a VIP host's business card, and I'll let them know if I'm arriving too...sometimes they'll be able to get me in and waive my cover charge (which is usually not insignificant in $$).

Re: Cellphones In Your Club Policy
If I am a custy getting ignored by a dancer because she is on her phone, she shouldn't expect a tip even if she is sitting with me. At that moment, she is on the phone and not spending time with me. Exceptions are the girls I think are super hot (usually 1-3 girls ever qualify for this at any given trip), hell,I tip them just for walking by.

WHYYYYY can't we have this? We have a no cellphone use, no cell phone out policy on the floor for girls and customers- because of the camera function. Call me 'noid, but my club is small, bright (for a strip club) and last thing I want is my naked vag all over the net.
I have thrown a royal fit a few times, boys can be assholes, trying to 'sneak' in photos, as if strippers were too dumb to notice you aiming that shit at someone's ass. >:(

Re: Cellphones In Your Club Policy
I wonder if my club has such a policy. My phone is ancient and has no camera, but I have whipped it out to check the time in the club.

Re: Cellphones In Your Club Policy
I've been in a few places that had "no cell" signs, but if I need to use mine I just step into the bathroom or wherever is off the floor.

The phone glued to the sign that I mentioned previously was destroyed under the heel of a very pissed-off Brazilian dancer when she caught a guy trying to get a shot of her butt with it a few years ago...She turned around to scoop the tip and the idiot was still snapping away! :O

Re: Cellphones In Your Club Policy
I've seen everything from:
- No cellphones allowed
- No camera phones allowed
- No taking pictures
- Cellphones must be checked at the door
I like to have something to keep time with, but if its an issue I just keep it in my car.

I actually had a dancer call her boyfriend in the middle of a private dance once. Needless to say, that dance was her last.

I've seen all of these but the only one enforced is #3, though I've never actually seen it enforced because I'm not aware of anyone dumb enough to try to sneak snapshots. Such behavior would certainly result in a broken phone and probably a beat down as well.
People openly talk on phones in the club and dancers have even asked me to call common aquaintances hoping to get them in the club.

Re: Cellphones In Your Club Policy
I've seen signs posted but I've never seen the rules enforced except when guys are caught taking pictures. And even then, all they do is delete the photos and give the phone back.

Re: Cellphones In Your Club Policy
I don't allow cell phones to be used on the main floor anywhere you can see the stage or lapdance area. I am although strongly considering putting a cell phone blocker in the building so that there is no reason to have one out at all. The girl's in the dressing room are worse then the customers on the floor IMO. I can walk in the dressing room to flush out a girl who has had a customer waiting to get a dance from her for far too long only to find her texting or talking to whoever on the phone. When has it ever been acceptable to spend most of your night at work on the phone. I have a land line for emergencies and that is the only reason anyone should need to be contacted while at work.

Re: Cellphones In Your Club Policy
ALthough I am just a customer. I don't take my cell in to any bar or club. 1. I can't hear it. 2. I'm not going to pick it up if it vibrates. 3. I find it really rude to take or text when a dancer is with me. finally for out of five clubs have some thing in place that blocks the reception and usage of cell phones even for pics. the other one if you take your cell out by the stage or sittinbg to tip the dancer you get asked to put it away and if not you face the consequences of the phone being destroyed or being kicked out permanently....

Re: Cellphones In Your Club Policy
The club I most frequently visit is really only concerned with customers taking pictures and videos. There are no restrictions upon the dancers regarding cellphones.
My own cellphone doesn't even have a camera, so Ive never encountered a problem anywhere.I won't answer it during a dance or whatever, but I can tell by the number calling whether to call them back after the dance is over.
P.S. If there was a cellphone blocker in any club I go too, I would leave permanently.
-
Re: Cellphones In Your Club Policy
I always shut my phone off and leave it hidden in the car. There are any number of people who might call me. If I answered and they heard strip club background noise, I would not be pleased. Besides, I don't want to go to a club and talk on the phone.

You should be aware that active cell phone blockers are not legal in that they violate the Telecommunication Act regarding interfering with public airwaves.
So probably better to post signs and enforce at will.

Re: Cellphones In Your Club Policy
Never noticed a policy. I like to take it with me and at least check what calls I'm missing. If I'm missing something important, I'll go back outside so I can call without having loud, vulgar music coming through.
I lock the keyboard so I can't make an accidental call. And there's the occasional time when a nicely hustling winsome lass is dictating her number to me as I punch it in. Nothing ever comes of it, but it's nice of her to offer as part of the illusion of romance.

Re: Cellphones In Your Club Policy
I know the girls at the club cant use a cell phone/use a customers cell phone.
I've used it when I've called to see where someone was at or someone just calling me but only when im in the open...never during a dance, at the stage, when im talking to a dancer.....Nor have I cared to noticed if there was a cell phone rule posted at the door.

Those are the rules at the club that I frequent. My cell stays in the car, my Blackberry goes with me (I am just too paranoid about someone not being able to get a hold of me :'( ).
