One of my favorites is to ask em "what's the coolest thing you did this week?"
It gets them thinking about shit they like, and it adds an upbeat quality to the conversation. It gives me a chance to agree about how cool X thing is, and/or how impressed I am. I feel like it's easier to tie in a closing line when they're already having a positive conversation.
When all else fails and you're already dancing for them:
A) who did you lose your virginity too- was it good, was she hot, do you ever think about her
B) what's the naughtiest thing you've ever done? If they're like I don't know I'm like, you're never going to see me again, I don't even know your proper name. This encourages sexy talk while not encouraging them to try and make the dance more high contact. If they ask me why I want to know i say, you thought I was a stripper but I'm actually a sexual anthropologist.
I would say work with your personality. But its also detrimental to stop and look at the customer and see if its even worth it. because nothing sucks more than not wanting to be there in the first place and then having to go through awkward conversations. He'll be annoyed, you'll be annoyed and it'll mess with your mindset all night. I'm not a "I'm so horny" girl either. It makes me feel really silly to say stuff like that. I'm extremely goofy so what do I do? Look up jokes or crazy "what if" questions. Guys are gonna either gonna love it because they weren't expecting it or they are gonna act like they don't hear you. If they act like they don't care GREAT, you don't wanna be there anyways so he just crossed himself out which is helpful. You can try a little bit with "Oh no, you don't like my freaking awesome jokes??" If he doesn't respond say "well back to work I go, nice to meet ya" and walk away. If he does then ask him "what ya drinking on? you can't be the only one having fun! I want one too!" One he buys you a drink then it's easier to get him to buy dances.
But eventually the original script doesn't work and you have to adapt and change. You gotta remember your human, the same things that worked before may not won't work now.
Oh, and if you don't even care to ask him anything a "mmmmm baby are you ready for me?" works just fine. He will either say yes or no. Doesn't get much better than that lol
