There are many atypical successful house dancers. There are very few carbon copy dancers like there used to be years ago. Being the "typical" stripper, the out of the pages of Playboy type girls that used to be the norm are the minority. There are more girls with less than perfect bodies, tattoos, piercings than ever. It's rare to find a girl with out a tattoo anymore.
I'm tattooed, pierced (although not as heavily as I used to be) and have had plastic surgery (BA). I do very well as a house dancer, and I don't work at a dive bar. (though I do love a dive bar!). I travel and have worked at high end clubs to dive biker bars. How well you do depends on your attitude and hustle, I may have to adjust my dance wear depending on the type of club but I've always done well.
Hope this asnwered your question!
What plastic surgery do you have/are you getting done? What is going to be your standout feature?
I have worked with "physically unique" people before. The one midget girl did well. Probably because she is cute anyways though. I think overall, if you look good you could definitely be hired as a house dancer as well.
Are you planning on just becoming a feature without house-dancing first?
Did you know there are schools for feature dancers? After that, you need a really good agent and good photos to get you gigs. I think pornstars have an advantage because they use that to promote themselves.

What does "body project" mean? Is it a trans issue?
for the record: i don't think anyone will ask you to post your "whys" if you were to elaborate.
and even if they did, you don't have to go into detail :P
I think, to answer ur question, that if you work in a club with the kind of clientele that would dig your style, u can be a house dancer. If there wouldn't be enough of them to sustain u financially, then it wouldn't work, obv.
Without knowing more about your appearance in particular, the only thing I can say is you'd have to just try it and find out. But in general, the more mainstream your look, the more mass appeal you'll have. That, or just be insanely attractive and give your look a classy style.
So I'm guessing that you're going for major PS and having a full body suit. If that's what you're going for I really can't see you getting booked a lot as a feature. Take a look at the majority of features today.

There are hardly any that are heavily tattooed, let alone with full body suits. This could keep you from entering contests and getting titles which can get you bookings, maybe in 5 to 10 years, when you're done with your body modification the industry could change, but now, not a highly profitable career choice.
Personally, there's nothing hotter than a hot bod tattooed chick, but I don't think the industry is ready for something as extreme as what I believe you're going for.
^^^ Does Pantera have a full body suit? Or something close? Like, tiger prints? She's a badass in pole competitions. I'm guessing she features too?

I see Ginger!!!
Wow. I want to see Pason on here. Her photos are so cool. Makes me wish I did ballet.
I can see how being unique can be an asset. You just have to have confidence and do your thing... good luck with the body project.
