Question on selling used cell phones
I have a relatively new Razr from Sprint. I have the manual, chargers, headphones, and even the box. I have my Helio now and I don't know what to do with this thing... Is ebay my only answer? Would it involve any "unlocking"?
A customer bought it for me (and was paying my bill) a while ago. We "broke up" and he didn't want it back. (The service is still turned on but I'm not interested in contacting him again.)
Re: Question on selling used cell phones
Try selling it to someone in your area on Craigslist..... people are always selling used phones (and everything else) on there.
Re: Question on selling used cell phones
As long as the phone is in his name, he can report it stolen or have it locked... But, if you know it's completely off the plan and paid for, I think it should be fine.
Be careful with ebay, I've tried to sell 4 or 5 phones there and every winning bidder changed their mind AFTER the winning bid or just didn't contact or pay. Also, a lot of spam questions from companies. Really angry about all that because ebay wants their fees regardless of whether I received money or not, despite the dispute =/
Re: Question on selling used cell phones
you dont have to unlock it, thats only if you want to sell it to a person with a different carrier just list it as sprint only.
Re: Question on selling used cell phones
Sorry, I had another thought... since the ex-custie left service on it... how should I go about taking that off? I don't want to contact him again, but I don't want to sell it with service and have someone take advantage of that and use his minutes or anything. Can I just take out the SIM chip and keep it??

he would have to call or you would have to call to cancel the service otherwise whoever gets the phone it will seem stolen to the service provider and they would not activate it. they can tell by phone serial numbers not just the sim.
if he cant call and cancel it its just going to be a paperweight.
