I know, if I have to ask it probably is.. but I ran across an ad on CL for some parrots. I sent a simple response because I basically wanted to know the rehoming fee. If it was super expensive I was going to stop there (which I was assuming it would be).
Here is the response I got from the owner after basically only saying I have a little experience with birds, I had cockatiels, and asking the rehoming fee:
"Hello
thanks for your interest in my pair of parrots for adoption. They are 18 months old, in perfect feather and loves attention. They eat zupreem pellets and fresh fruit and veggies. They loves human food and will eat any that you give them. I have hand fed them from 4 weeks of age, they are use to being handles and will step up for almost anyone they says Hello, step up, good boy, whines like a dog, rings like the phone, and sounds like someone knocking on the door. They will come with cages and toys .
I work for the Christ Orphanage center at (Austin) Texas but presently we are here in Cameroon to carry out research on the orphans here and to help them fight against H.I.V/A.I.D.S .
These Birds are Called Lulu and jay they are very welcoming and could be left out of their cage.
there are hand raised .
i am very ready to ship them back to the U.S.A to any pet lover or pet loving or Christian home.because i just discovered that the climate here is so so bad for these angel and due to my movements up and down so i don't have all the time to spoil them with love.
how soon are you ready for these angels?
they have been trained to speak both English,French and Spanish.these babies come along with all their needs like cage, toys and c.d player including a menu booklet.
these angels are so secretive they keep all home secrets..
I am giving them out for a free adoption to a more loving and caring home that would give them all the total love and care they need and also because my work load here does not make me to give them all the love and care they need ok .
So if you are willing to get the pair of parrots to the uSA all you have to take care of is their transportation fee from Cameroon to the usa which is just $290 for a pick up at your nearest airport and for a home delivery is $350.hope you love the pictures of lulu and jay.if that is ok by you then i would like you to get back to me with the following answers to my questions
Are you married??
Do you have pets??
Are you sure to take good care of lulu and jay??
Are you ready to afford for their shipping ??
Do you need them now??
Do you intend breeding??
i would be waiting to read from you as soon as possible in order to proceed with the delivery to your home ok .Hope you love the pictures ok
thanks"

When I hovered over their picture in my email, it said "Katherine & George". I thought their names were Lulu and Jay? Why are there other random parrots in the background? Why would somebody let a pair of parrots go for $350?
Before anybody says anything, I know parrots are a lifetime commitment and I'm not going to rush into it.. I was just wondering if anybody else gets a weird vibe?
