I may be rejoining the ranks!
I may be dusting off the platforms in the next month or so. Hubby and I can use the extra cash and my attempts at finding bartending work with no experience (gotta love a field that wants experience but no one wants to give it to you!) aren't panning out.
Hubby took the news better than I thought. I won't be quiting the part time job I have (regular paycheck on the books is nice!) but we definitely need the extra cash, and even a night a two a week will really help.
So I have my Tonalin now, I have my Nivea Cellulite Gel, tanning and hair and nails to follow. Getting back into working out with goal of getting myself back into 'fighting shape' by mid July.
I figure even if I get a bartending or waitressing job between now and then, attractive servers and bartenders always make more than unattractive ones, all things considered.
That I just I miss being girlie, damnit! lol
Wish me luck ladies!

Good luck!!! Keep us posted :)
Re: I may be rejoining the ranks!
Good luck... The make-up and shopping are the best part of the job!
Re: I may be rejoining the ranks!
Best of Luck!!! I'm in the same position. I want to work in a bar bartending, but have no experience. I really want to learn how though!
Re: I may be rejoining the ranks!
I too am rejoining the ranks. With this economy I need the extra cash + I miss my friends. Stripperweb is fun but I miss the dressing room gossip. ;D
Re: I may be rejoining the ranks!
How you get bartending experience :
Find small club ,
tell them you have a few months of experience somewhere,
get the experience you need from them ,
move to more lucrative place.
I paid for college bartending ( and a few months waitressing at an SC ) .
You could go either route ( bartend or dance ) and be just fine.
Re: I may be rejoining the ranks!
Makeup has never been a biggie for me. I never wear it unless I have to outside of a club.
But I SOOOOOOOO miss the shopping! I realized after my hubby and I got our tax refund that I really miss being able to go into a store and drop $100-$200 or whatever on whatever and not bat an eyelash.
Given how we have next to no furniture and stuff I'm having a serious itch to buy things in the worst way! lol

Yeah, extra cash is always a plus, and I do miss girlie gossip in the DR :)

Only problem with that around here is that they WILL check to see if you have experience. It's just too small of an area. I am TIPS certified thanks to a volunteer bartending gig at one of those 'Taste of' street fair things, so that is something in my favor.

YES! This is SO frustrating.
I have been going through the same thing. I get so frustrated, I mean you aren't born knowing how to bartend, you learn it! All those bad ass bartenders out there had to be given a chance somehwere by someone without having experience!
I can't even get a bartending job and I have 10+ years in the hospitality industry! (waiting tables, hostessing, and cocktail serving) But oh, no, it doesn't matter cause it isn;t exactly bartending.
What about the fact that I'm great with people, can multi-task like a motherfucker, keep cool under pressure when it's slammed busy, pour one hell of a beer and know every alcohol/mxed drink out there????
Nope, Doesn't matter.
I feel your pain. Good luck getting back into dancing, though!
