Lonnnggggg time Lurker. :)
Hi all!
I've been lurking here for a very long time - shortly after I started dancing, as it happens.... I came here because I was trying to find information on clubs in my area and etc., and lately I've been reading the forums and finding myself posting and.... wait - babble-typing is a bad habit that I am working on. ;D
About me... I am Canadian, but for two and half years (the last 2.5) I lived in Los Angeles, moving there with nothing but my suitcase and working at clubs there... thinking/hoping/dreaming when I got there that the $$ would be better. Riiigggghhhttt.....
Bit of a wakeup call... all these mysogynistic small pee-peed managers taking my money and then asking for tipouts... really? for what? I used to think "why is he tapping his tip jar? He took all my money already"... I think it's much harder out there for a stripper, despite what that song says. (Now it's stuck in my head... great. :O )
I'm always a little tongue-in-cheek, and very fun loving... no one, with the exception of one of the girls I used to work with in LA, knows that I used to dance. (File that under "crap, sorry, I didn't tell the whole story" - I started waitressing at a sister club in LA after getting fed up that the waitress made more than me and I was the naked one, and then was momentuously fired, starting working a 9to5, and then moved back to Canada last month.)
I really miss the pole! I built a DIY pole with parts from Home Depot in my Hollywood apartment. I can't wait to do it here! Version 2.0! Hopefully with less chafing! It was a lot of fun waiting in line to get the thing threaded though... Dude at home depot: "hi little lady, what's this for? Your closet?" Me: "No! It's going to be a stripper pole!":P
Anyway, since I seem to be more drawn in to the community here, I thought I'd post my little 'about me'... I'm still pretty connected to a few clubs here in Ontario, and very knowledgable of clubs in LA as well.
So, yeah... hi!
Re: Lonnnggggg time Lurker. :)
I remember you and I'm glad you still have a pole, because you can REALLY dance! I remember being so envious of your flexibility. Glad to hear you got the hell out of L.A.! I did too this year, YAY!
