Re: the begining of the end
Buy more fluid and dump it in there as a temp fix. Just keep checking it. You don't know how long it took to drain out do you?
Re: the begining of the end
An 01 shouldn't be dying that quickly... it's a Jap car and should be relatively cheap to repair. I have a Mitsubishi.
Re: the begining of the end
Is there a trade school, technically school that they may be able to look at it and repair if for less of a price, as they use your car as a teaching tool at the same time they fix it with the instructor?
Re: the begining of the end
Do you have a loan on the car? If you do, whoever holds the loan might extend it for you for enough to get it fixed, because if they don't their collateral will become worth a lot less. They might also be able to recommend an honest repair shop.
Whatever you do, DON'T go to AAMCO, because no matter what your car needs, they will sell you a rebuilt transmission. I suppose some of their shops might be OK, but don't count on it. A locally owned place is more likely to do honest work.
Re: the begining of the end
^ thanks mike, but the loan is so many months behind i have to hide the car in the garage just so they don't take it, lol...so I doubt they are gunna extend it any further.
I will look into a trade school around here though...but I hope they don't fuck up my car worse than it is...
It shouldn't be dying this soon, and I hope it isn't cause I love my car..and can't get another one...
In the meantime, I'm gunna have to drive my boy to work at 3am, go to school at 7am, hope he somehow gets a ride home from work or will have to wait until I get out of school at 4pm. He gets off work at noon.
ugh. We spent our last $100 taking the cat to the vet yesterday. She was way overdue for her monthy shot.
this entire life of mine is so miserable anymore. when it rains it pours I suppose.

^^^
We have the same car, but mine is an 04. When I first got it, the engine kept killing out when I was driving it ....It turned out it was something really minor...maybe you can get some sort of repair that wouldn't be too much? You live in Las Vegas right? If so PM me I'll tell you where I went when I lived out there
Re: the begining of the end
well..here's good news: it was a recall. The hoses weaken overtime and cause transmission fluid leaks. I do not know if those hoses were replaced or not, but I am going to find out tomorrow and hopefully the dealership will repair it for me. cross your fingers.
