sorry i have a few more post-ba question!!
i posted this in the thread in PP with my pictures, but i just wanted to post here too bc i figure more people look here.
the dr said im healing great, i have very little bruising, and very little swelling. i got my sutures out today and he said i can go back to work, and ease into working out as i feel comfortable, after 10 days (which is friday). but i'm still in pain! i guess thats just my body getting used to it? and getting used to being up and not laying around?
he gave me more pain pills just in case bc he said he cant call that in so in case i need them.. and he said take them if i need them bc like you guys said, why be in pain if i dont have to be? its just an ache, and then the incisions hurt bc theyre healing. am i being a baby still taking the pain pills?
i'm not even sleeping laying all the way down yet. its been a week and a day. i'm still propping myself up with pillows and reclining with pillows under my arms. i could almost sleep that way every day lol bc i think its kinda comfy. is that weird? should i try to lay all the way down?
if im healing so well (and i mean, i really do have like barely any bruising) is it weird that im still feeling like i want to spend more days laying around healing? or am i just being paranoid?
i guess really my main question is am i going to heal faster if i stay sleeping like that, taking it easy, etc, or will i heal faster if i just get up and get back into my regular routine bc maybe it will feel the same whether i do it now or in another week?
thanks in advance times a million you guys, i know ive been asking a million questions and i'm probably just being super paranoid! :-*

Re: sorry i have a few more post-ba question!!
Everyones body is different...listen to yours and do what YOU need to do to heal right.
And my Dr calls in pain med scripts for me all the time....weird...

Re: sorry i have a few more post-ba question!!
Well, I recovered quick but if you can lay on you back I would. Your probably just not used to the way it feels.
I don't really feel comfortable giving advice because I missed out on a lot of the normal recovery things like not being about to lay on my back or side or stomach. I had no incision pain or "zingers".
I wouldn't go back to work if your still in pain though. Especially if your getting tired just moving around and stuff...I can't see going to work making your recovery faster. You'll just wear yourself out. If you're still taking the pills what if you really pull something and don't know because your numb...
If your just achy I wouldn't still be taking them. I like to monitor that things are getting better and thats hard to do when your numbing it out. But again, my advice might be kindda out of the norm.

Re: sorry i have a few more post-ba question!!
^ huh i dunno. he said if i needed more valium he could call that in but he would give me the script for demerol just in case bc he couldnt call it in. either way, i have it in case i need it. i doubt i will.. i'm hoping at least! i still have 26 valium left and 25 demerol, and as the pain lessens i can split the pills.
my reg dr is a weirdo like that too, he calls in my xanax even though i was always preeeeetty sure that you couldnt do that, but he makes other girls i know who go to him come in to pick up their adderall scripts.
who knows.

do you think its bad NOT to? like will it hurt me or affect how i heal? i feel pretty comfortable and snug like that.. it makes me feel closed in, and thats comforting to me. im weird, i know, lol.
i forgot to ask him about that. boo. i guess i can call but i hate making phone calls.
oh and about taking the pain meds.. im only taking those when i'm at home! its just for comfort.. i wouldnt want to work on them anyway.

Re: sorry i have a few more post-ba question!!
I don't think it will hurt you, but if you never lay on your back you won't ever get used to how it feels.
Wait till you lay on your STOMACH!! Whoa that feels crazy, but now I'm used to it and it feels normal.
Basically I don't think waiting any long will make it feel any less strange. No matter what you still have two thing on your chest.
Actually I just remembered, on my third day I couldn't take sleeping up anymore at the hotel and I finally laid on my back and it was like "eeeeee" for a second and then I got used to it and it was nice. Now getting back up was a struggle, but after that it actually felt better to know I was going back to normal. My entire life wasn't revolving around this tits anymore. Be time I got home I was laying on my sides for about 30 minutes off and on all day and then eventually (like a day or two later I woke up sleeping on my side). I think my body knew it wasn't off limits and just did it's own deal. A few days after that I was on my stomach.

Re: sorry i have a few more post-ba question!!
I was exhausted after my BA for about 3 weeks. I think if your tired then sleep, your body repairs itself when your sleeping so I think if your tired sleep as much as possible.
The same with sleeping upright, if its comfy to do I say keep doing it, it will help your boobies heel in the right position.

Re: sorry i have a few more post-ba question!!
i was def still in pain after a week! i think i was in pain for about 10 days, and even after that if i went from laying on my back to sitting up it hurt. oh, also, i still don't/can't lay on my stomach!
anyway
let your body heal and recover in it's own way and give it time.

Re: sorry i have a few more post-ba question!!
^ did you deal with the pain or take your pills? i will admit that 1) i am a baby and would rather take a pill than just live with it and 2) i dont exactly hate pills - of any kind. not that i even like these.. they make me feel funny and usually sick. but i like the way they put me to sleep. they put me in this weird sleep.. like its a really deep sleep but i also wake up if someone were to poke their head in to check on me.
to clarify - the pain is not unbearable. i COULD live without the pills. but just as if i had a muscle ache in my legs and i COULD live with it, i'd take aleeve anyway bc why have pain when you have something that could make it go away?

Re: sorry i have a few more post-ba question!!
I slept on my back for prob close to a month afterwards! And I NEVER sleep on my back. It is still odd sometimes when I sleep on my stomach...I have to cross an arm under me so my implants dont press against my ribs..feels too weird! And mine are almost 3 yrs old!

Re: sorry i have a few more post-ba question!!

Re: sorry i have a few more post-ba question!!
What kind of implants over the muscle partials or fully under the muscle.
Over is less time healing. I had Full unders and it took 3 weeks of sleeping proped up.

Re: sorry i have a few more post-ba question!!
i ran out of pills after a little over a week. (i was on percocet and demorol but the demoral just made me sick so i stopped takin those and just took my percocet.) after i ran out i used extra strength tylenol. HOWEVER if i had more percocets i would def have kept taking them!! (i was just too scared to ask for more!)
i say if you have them and are in pain just take them.

Are you supposed to sleep on your back for an extended period of time after
BA so they don't get messed up by laying on top of them?
One of the docs I had a consult with said you need to sleep on your back only for several months. Does it feel totally weird sleeping on your stomach with them?

if thats what your dr says, i guess go with him. but no, as far as i know, you can do what feels comfortable. though my point is im not sleeping flat on my back, i'm still propping myself up with pillows behind me and under my arms, and i wasnt sure if that was bad.
my god i may not have been in unbearable pain earlier but i went by work again to visit and holy hell. i know they told me massaging them would hurt now but do it anyway.. but so many girls squeezing at me.. ahhhh. and my tummy really hurts :( i realized (after i did my whole night time routine, brushed/flossed/washed my face/applied face tanner/etc) that i havent eaten since lunch time. which was 12:00. except for some pretzals and ginger ale around 5. i dont even really feel like eating. i took a valium as soon as i got home and i'm hoping it kicks in soon.
my left side hurts more than the right. i assume thats normal? i'm right handed so my guess was that i use my right side more so its more flexible or something? i dunno.. i forgot to ask him all the important stuff like that when i was there today! i asked about tanning, when i can apply mederma/vit e oil, back to work, back to working out.. but i wasnt IN pain like that when i was there so i forgot.

Re: sorry i have a few more post-ba question!!
um.. when i took my sports bra off last night to change to a diff one, there was a tiny spot of blood. i thought nothing of it because they had taken the stitches out and i figured maybe that was normal? but i just took the one i put on last night off, and theres a small spot in the same place. is that bad? :-\
i just called and they said they'd page my dr and i should hear from him within a half hour. now i'm nervous.. i didnt think you were supposed to bleed after the stitches came out.
eta - nevermind. he just called me back and said i'm ok. i seriously :heartbeat my dr. he is so nice. they had to page him bc its after the normal hours and he called me and i apologized bc i said i knew it was a silly question, and he said no, he'd rather me call and be safe than sorry, and call with any other questions or problems.
(yeah, i know its his job and that's what i paid for. i just feel bad for inconveniencing people. what if he was like, at dinner with his kids or something?)

Re: sorry i have a few more post-ba question!!
I think I was about 3.5 weeks post op before I tried going back to work. I was worried that I might mess something up if I was too strenuous. It took a couple of months before the morning boob soreness went away. That's the difference between sleeping sitting up and lying down. Be prepared for the morning soreness when you start sleeping lying down.

Re: sorry i have a few more post-ba question!!
now i have most of my pain at night, after the whole day has gone by. like right now :(
i dont have a bra on right now (due to my self tanning debacle.. posted in the viola strings! thread) and it feels funny. do i need to wear one all the time? i definately WANT to put one on and will be in a little bit.
also whts going on with my skin? it must be one of the meds or something bc i never really get dry skin, and my stomach is flaking its so dry. even after exfoliating twice and using baby oil. i have a heavy layer of lush's dream cream on right now but i can still feel little flakes. my chest is doing it too, but i figured that was from the skin stretching. theres no reason for my stomach though except one of these pills...

Re: sorry i have a few more post-ba question!!
I sleep on my side with a little round huggy pillow so the boob on top doesn't feel funny.
Wait until you lay on your stomach. It's weird until you get used to it. I don't sleep that way, but it will help keep the pockets open IMO.
Start tapering off your pain meds. You will be hella constipated. That was the worst part of my ba.

.
Depends on your Dr's instructions. My Dr actually instructed me to NEVER wear a bra of any sort for the first month...because a bra would hold them in position and they wouldnt drop completely. I also had to massage them to keep the pocket open so they would drop.
Since I followed his instructions to a T and they look perfect now...I believe him!

he didn't say. he said no underwire for 3 months, and i don't have to wear one if i dont want to. so i guess that answers my own question haha.
and yeah, he told me to massage, too. i probably need to a little more than i am. well, maybe a lot more. its just so weird bc i can feel it and im not used to it!
i dont HAVE any bras now except sports bras bc i gave my old ones to my mom.. i need to go to victorias secret. i'm going to a party at my mom's friend's house today (these people will literally have to bite their tongues to keep from commenting.. my mom told them if they ever say anything they're dead.. ha.. these people are very opinionated) and i guess depending what i wear i'll either wear a sports bra or nothing. i'm a little nervous.. its one thing to show off here, and at work and stuff but its another around my parents friends. though this woman has had lipo so she really has no room to talk.
