MBT: The Anti-Shoe. Anyone tried these? Opinions?
Has anyone tried the MBT: The Anti-Shoe?
They are expensive, but for something that is supposed to medically
help my posture, muscles and all that-- I'm okay with that, as long
as it delivers.
Especially since I wear flip-flops all the time... :-\
opinions?
Re: MBT: The Anti-Shoe. Anyone tried these? Opinions?
Off topic- I've been a dancer too long- I saw "MBT" thought, Mitchell Brothers Theater!
(SF,CA)
I'd try them, but they do look Dorkus Maximus with the thick middle sole.

Yep I did the same lol.
Onto thread discussion. I saw someone when I was in Shasta wearing these. Looked a lil' odd. But then again the guy was wearing weights on his ankles, wrists and forehead. Also included was a waterpack (back pack) and one of those sauna suits. I'm not sure if it was the outfit that threw me off, but when I glanced at his shoes it was the one thing I went "damn that's ugly" yet said nothing in regards to the weight ensamble

they are quite hideous, i wonder how they feel....
Re: MBT: The Anti-Shoe. Anyone tried these? Opinions?
there are some cute ones-- but then again-- I wear reefs all the time and those aren't exactly a huge fashion statement either.
my leg hurts :(
Re: MBT: The Anti-Shoe. Anyone tried these? Opinions?
they're kinda like earth shoes... only they claim to be more of a workout. earth shoes are way more stylish and definitely improve your posture.
Re: MBT: The Anti-Shoe. Anyone tried these? Opinions?
These were really popular in Australia about 10 years ago, you used to see a lot of people wearing them. I haven't seen people wear them much lately.
Not sure if they work.
You could also look into Orthodics.
Re: MBT: The Anti-Shoe. Anyone tried these? Opinions?
I read all the comments on the MBT page and someone mentioned Earth Shoes so I googled it-- not built the same at all (from what I can tell from the pictures.)
I dunno-- I'm excited to try them on. there's a department store nearby that carries them (surprisingly.)
Re: MBT: The Anti-Shoe. Anyone tried these? Opinions?
If you wear earthshoes, it makes wearing regular shoes feel like stilettos, which may be fine... This "antishoe" is a pumped up version of the rockport "rockwalker" which came out over 20 years ago.
I would suggest first seeing either a podiatrist, or better yet a chiropractor. Get yourself into alignment first, and then see what you need. Solve the problem, don't just relieve the symptom.
Re: MBT: The Anti-Shoe. Anyone tried these? Opinions?
oh, I go to a really great chiropractor anywhere between 2 a week and 1 a month depending on my schedule. I'm actually in really good shape that way.
I just had my sciatica act up rather seriously for the first time due to starting at a club where there's a lot of stage dancing. I've been at a different club for the past six months where I made a lot of money off stage so always bought myself off stage.
so this time not only was there a pole (not one at my last club. weird, i know) and I was dancing hard, but I was dancing hard 5-6 times in a five hour shift for the first time in six months.
but also-- I wear flip flops all the time, and even when I wear my newbalances or my etnie skater shoes, walking still hurts occasionally.
and I think the MBT's might do something towards helping the problem, because I have a high arch, and honestly they look a little fun. plus all the comments say how people loved them from the moment they put them on in the store...
you don't get that with orthotics or podiatrist visits, although I do definitely feel better with my chiropractor, I need to get serious about wearing shoes that are good for me.
especially considering the shoes I wear for work :O
that's not normal for the body at alllllll.

My mom has a pair and looooves them. They do give your legs a workout.

I think ajbaer started a thread about these a while back.
Here it is:
Re: MBT: The Anti-Shoe. Anyone tried these? Opinions?
The best shoes for my feet are like these. Whatever has been said about the Victorian fashion being uncomfortable it's not true with these shoes.

I tried on the MBT sandals and really liked 'em. they made me want to hop around the store like a little kid. I'm thinking I'm going to get them sooner rather than later.
