Body Business - NEW rules

Posts supporting or encouraging anorexia/ bulimia will not be tolerated. Posts regarding Eating Disorders are ok to discuss, however "encouraging" is not.

haha. strippers talking about our erectile dysfunction.
but really, it's a good rule. there's a lot of eating disorder boards out there you can join if you want to talk about that. tf is not currently accepting new members, but lunchbox has gotten a lot more pro lately.

Re: Body Business - NEW rules
uhh, I'm sorry..but really, if the mod makes a rule saying let's not encourage eating disorders..it's really not cool to post saying well, if you can't discuss it here, go to this other website. I mean...that's pretty much encouraging, isn't it?
-
Re: Body Business - NEW rules
Thank you! There's been a disturbing amount of those sorts of posts recently.
-
Re: Body Business - NEW rules
yeah we better skip out all drug related talk also, since drugs are illegal. while were at it lets not talk about escourting, becuase thats illegal!

TF is currently about as pro as Something Fishy. bleh. Project shapeshift is good for this sort of thing though.
And PB...no, I think it's a good solution to post other outlets. Some people here, whether others like or understand it or not, either are pro-ana or are simply not ready to let go of an ED at this point in their lives.
I understand why ED talk would upset others here, especially if they're recovered or trying to get there. So the best solution is to direct those who want to talk pro-ana to a more appropriate place, where they can be honest, talk with like-minded people and not get flamed...and where other people here won't have to see it or be upset by it. Win-win. :)

Re: Body Business - NEW rules
The rules are about "encouraged" talk of eating disorders. The posts will either be edited or deleted.
The subject can be spoken of, but when someone implies for others to purge or starve it just wont be tolerated. Sorry.

I keep seeing these replies to just take this pill or that pill for nearly everything. Very little mention of helping the problem in ANY other way much less even considering other options. Often there is very little talk of going through proper channels to not only obtain these meds or to regulate the use of the meds either.
Since I became a member here I've also seen a fair amount of talk of using these meds for purposes other than intended and doctor shopping too.
At any rate, it's just a suggestion/request for mod consideration. Whatever she decides is fine with me. Now that I got that off my chest I'm out of this. The mods can use it or not as they see fit.
Are you talking about people who take prescription drugs to help with anxiety, etc? Or people who are flat out abusing prescription drugs for no reason?
I havent really noticed anything as of right now, but I will keep my eye out.

I'm risking sounding really stupid here, but if this is directed at me, someone PM me and let me know.

Re: Body Business - NEW rules
^ No it's not ...its towards someone else. Trust me.

I hope u r not referring to people taking medications for anxiety. You took over the thread that I started with your anti-drugs stance. A lot of members here need medication and you are not a doctor or a psychiatrist so who are u to say they don't need it?
If it's ok to talk about illegal drugs here then it should be ok to talk about prescription medication whether it's being abused or not. This is an adult community.

Re: Body Business - NEW rules
Obviously medication talk is allowed; it is a part of every day life for some and we are all adults.
We are not trying to censor this site. All kinds of health related topics are acceptable. The only thing that is not acceptable is encouraging of ANY thing that could possibly hurt an individual.
I think that is fair.

well then we should really delete every pro drug and alcohol related thread since both are bad for you. there have been a lot of pro drug related threads and i am no talking about prescribed ones....that is getting on my nerves.

I agree 100%. I have seen people asking for support about ED's but never specifically saw any threads that encouraged people to binge/purge. Not good at all, imo.

There is a big difference between someone discussing all of the above, and then for someone else to say, "Hey. You feel like shit? Go do drugs".
That would be overly censoring the site, and that is not my intention. However, if someone is suicidal and someone says "Go kill yourself" or "this form of suicide would be best" then I will have to delete that.
It's a fine line, and of course everyone is going to see it a bit differently, but I am doing the best I can to not promote anything that could possibly kill someone.

Ok look, I am trying to delete everything I can since it's not wanted and then I am going to stop posting on this site and just go back to reading things. So can people please stop. I was only trying to HELP others in showing that there is more than one POSSIBLE way to find relief from these issues that we share.
You all aren't the only people in the world with social anxiety issues. I suffer too and this is really making me emotional so can you just stop so that I can at least be able to come here and even just read this site without feeling attacked because I simply tried to offer another point of view.
Show some kindness and let it go now.
PLEASE.
Thankyou.

Re: Body Business - NEW rules
It is unfair to say that this site is PRO MEDS only.
ALL topics are ok to discuss. Not everyone is going to agree with them.
-
Re: Body Business - NEW rules
LadyLuck, just because your opinion seems to be unpopular with some, it's still nice to see the other side. So please don't stop posting, but rather try to use better judgment about where to interject those opposing (and perhaps unpopular) views?

Its pretty funny how most of us cant stand being stereotyped
yet threads on doing "Party Drugs" are popping up everywhere lately. :-\
