^^ You're way too sweet. Stab somebody! j/k
I like to stab the doors of closed minds... does that count? }:D
I dunno I try to be as fair minded as I can be... :) lol thanks to you too btw
 it's kind of annoying to me that someone who has been here a month thinks she's going to come on here and "solve" the "problems" of the site. ::)
also.. maybe the reason people aren't reading your whole posts is because they are ALL so LONG. like, i've never seen you post something that ISN'T pretty long.
She's just trying to help guys, that's all. And I agree with her - it would be a really good idea to have a huge FAQ section, that would be really helpful. Something like this--> http://www.stripperweb.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=108564
And please don't berate her for having such long posts - if you don't want to read them, that's fine. Since when is it unacceptable to have posts longer than a paragraph?
I also want to say that I've read many of the posts PrincessParis has made and it seems like in this short time she has contibuted good info/advice to this site. Let's not run her off, ok?
Dude, why all the hate? She's really trying to be nice and, really, she presented her case in a very valid and mature way.
No hate on my part. Apparently I'm terrible at conveying sarcasm.
Well, you know, if the annoying newbies at hand can't even bother to read stickies before posting I doubt very seriously they'd read a FAQ page either.
The best way to solve this would be by having Pryce put say a week waiting limit from the time you register until you can post. It would cut out a lot of the annoying repetitive questions and troll invasions as well. But if C & R still isn't up and running, I wouldn't hold my breath about that happening either.
Yeah, I'm still not reading all those long ass posts. They make my eyes hurt.
I think this kind of stuff will subside when she pops her kid out. I know I was an emotional novel-length poster when I was pregnant. And then I had my baby and stopped caring about stupid shit so much.
I've never, ever, ever understood the annoyance over similar threads. Only the bandwidth argument really makes sense to me. I like SW staying fresh and topics coming up again, that I wouldn't otherwise think to search for. I mean, I've been on here for a long time, but I don't go reading through every page of HH. So I'd never look up a lot of the stuff anyway. And members change - I have no interest in reading through some six page thread from 2003. And there really are only so many topics that will come up regarding making money in a stripclub - we might as well take away the ability to make new threads and just search for everything, through all of the wisdom of members who've been here for a certain amount of time, because they are the keepers of all great Hustle Hut knowledge or something. ::)
And, I don't care if you are the longest posting member on here, or the SW top earner, or whatever, this site belongs to everyone, no one has more of a say than anyone else (except mods) and sometimes it is just straight up bitchy the way some members come down on people they don't like.
my point was just that more than once she's said "oh i guess you didn't read the whole thing" and i was just offering a reason why that might be.
well, do you like posting the same response multiple times? i know that i used to type out really long, detailed club reviews of the places i worked in baltimore when someone would ask in club chat. and then someone would ask AGAIN without searching. fuck no i'm not typing up all that again! its kinda like, the work has already been done for you but you'd like someone to do it again instead of you doing the work of looking to see what's out there.
i don't think it has to do with not liking people...Quote:

^^^ I know I write long responses sometimes, but I really try not to. In this case I had to because I was trying to answer all the points I've heard against my case that I've read in previous posts.
I know it sucks to read long posts. I hate doing it too, but this one was necessary.
It is pretty out of place for a noob to try and solve problems.... but I seem to be the only one who is trying to do it. The older members seem to me to either ignore it or are the ones that are causing the problem. Sometimes it takes fresh perspectives to create positive change. Look through history, you'll find plenty of cases that support that.
As for being pregnant well - I find it funny that instead of focusing on the topic at hand my personal life is being brought up - but either way, I've always been a thorough writer and i have a lot of ideas that are too complex to write with a few sentances. I'm more of a quality that quantity type so when I have less time you'll find I'm more selective with the number of posts I contribute to. So anyways i appologize for my lengthy posts, I have been trying to learn to condense then as much as possible and I will keep trying :)
Anyhow back to the topic at hand:
It seems that we can all agree that if a topic has been covered it would be helpful to direct the OP to 1. the threads where it has been covered 2. search terms that they can use 3. the search function
What we haven't agreed on yet is whether or not it is acceptable to be harsh in your reply or not.
We also have not agreed on whether it is ok to start a thread that has already been covered. Bandwidth is an issue, so do we think it is worth the bandwidth to gain some fresh perspectives?
As for solutions we've come up with: 1. not letting anyone post until a week after they have signed up 2. Starting a FAQ with some of the best and most common responses to those questions.
****
Personally I think that it's not such a bad idea to keep people from signing up and just being able to post. It would really ensure someones dedication to the site. Perhaps a week is too long tho? I personally feel a couple days would be almost as effective.
How we would go about creating a FAQ is the hardest part. I would suggest that We start the thread and If someone sees a question that has been answered well in the past that person should make as thorough a post as possible with all the different answers to that question. I think there would have to be rules for posting in the FAQ...
^ "we" might come up with solutions to the problem that you see but "we" cannot implement them. each and every member of this site could ask for a probationary period for new members but it doesnt matter because pryce is the one who would have to set that up. and you havent been here long enough to see that yeah, no, when it comes to that kinda stuff.
also.. as far as being harsh. as i said, i'm not going to do the work for you when it's already been done. if i took the time to write out a response, and it's out there, why should i have to redirect you to it? why should chrissy have to search for people, as she said she did in another thread? it's like everyone wants the easy way out and they want to ask a question and have everyone else find the answer for them. and that is NOT ok. so yeah, i think they deserve a harsh answer when they're being lazy and expect someone else to do the work for them.
We may not be able to implement them, but we could SUGGEST changes that would be helpful. And if there are enough of us that support the change... esp if we are helping to support the site through donations... it would really help.
And what ever happened to "If you don't have something nice (or at least neutral) to say don't say anything"? I mean, no one is FORCING you to respond. Why get negative when you don't have to?
IDK... that is your opinion and my opinion. Both sides just want SW to be a good place for people to post, so how can we make it that way without being negative?
again, you have not been here long enough to realize that your idea is nice and all but not realistic. "changes" have been coming for a long time. people have ASKED to donate. we can't. so i'm going to chalk this up to you just not understanding the site dynamics, but please realize you may be all gung ho for this but the chances of things actually happening are slim to none.
understandable.Quote:

We must burn a small effigy of sweat-pants-boner man to appease the Stripper Web Gods.
Sarcasm aside, there's nothing we can do. Only Pryce or maybe the mods have that kind of authority and access to the site to create sticky threads (which no one bothers to read anyway) or set up a posting time period. Or make any changes at all, really.
I'm not trying to be mean, I know you missed all the "Where is Pryce?" and the survey drama. We've been promised changes for a long time, but so far...
Check Docido's post for a recap here.
Give it a few more months and you'll be just as sick of some of the non-sense that we all are. Yet still unable to log off. :)
Seriously, the search button rarely works for me. I have even typed in the correct title of something and it tells me "sorry no results found". WTF? I know I have asked a question that may have been brought up before but it's only because the search function sucks. And I'm not a moron I know how to use a computer so I'm pretty sure I'm using that search button right.
^^^^ THANK YOU!
I get so annoyed with the search function to. I spend forever trying to find the info I'm looking for, and there have been occasions where I haven't found anything, asked my question, and been bombarded with "use the search function!" Ugh. I don't even ask questions in HH anymore for fear of getting the same reaction Kiera (sp?) did. Which is kinda unfortunate.
I agree that its good to bring up old topics and rehash them again. We get new members all the time that might not have been around for their chance to add their perspective to the old threads. Old threads aren't the final word on hustling.
Same - mostly because its yet another thing which has been discussed over and over. Few people want to read long posts about the same old shit.
I know no harm is meant by the OP and its not that theres anything wrong with the ideas, but some of its coming arcoss as a tad patronizing - as if no one here is bright enough to have thought of any of it before.
At the end of the day there would be no problem if the site was just fixed up properly. I sometimes find it hard to believe changes are coming ::)
Edited to add - I agree the search function is often shite too - and it wouldnt hurt some members to just ignore posts from newbies rather than jumping on their case.
I like Cinnamon Kisses siggie though, there should be more of it! :-D
Just for thought.
I read a business book that said you should always look to the new people in the company for suggestions. What they see is what most of the people in the business have chosen to ignore or accept because 'that's just the way it is'. A new person is likely to shed light on a subject and have unique ideas compared to older employees who have accepted the situation.
In reality, we've all thought about this.. but it can't happen because none of us can actually implement it. And we all know who can...
