SCs & the Presidential Nominating Conventions
A quick question to dancers from Denver and Minneapolis/St. Paul: what's expected to be the impact of the upcoming party conventions on the SC scene in your respective cities?
It would seem that with so many high-rollers with deep pockets jetting into town, the business would be booming

Delegates to the conventions are not really high rollers. Most of them are busy from the time they get into town until the time they leave. Many of them travel with their families and social activities are planned pretty much all the time.
Remember also that this is a political convention. The last place these people want to be seen is in a strip club.
Re: SCs & the Presidential Nominating Conventions
I dance in the Twin Cities and alot of people are looking forward to it. However aren't uptight repbulicans some of the stingiest with money (even though most of them have lots of it?) I have no idea what pollitcal party men who come into my club identify with but in most of my experiences the men with the most money(or who appear to have the most aka the country club types) are sometimes the hardest to get to part with their money(not to mention the snottiest)?? I know other girls have mentioned stuff like this.
Re: SCs & the Presidential Nominating Conventions
Everyone at my Denver club is very excited about the DNC. I remain optimistic, but I asked for some input from dancers who'd worked through one before and I didn't get any, so I guess it's touch and go.

Re: SCs & the Presidential Nominating Conventions
Well, at least one SC is expecting the Republican Convention to bring in boffo business ....
After the conventions come to a close, I'll be curious to hear from the dancers which party's supporters were better for business: the Republicans or the Democrats.

Local nudie bar is staying open late for the RNC
Published on August 06, 2008
Don't expect long nights of bar hopping at the Republican National Convention. While both Minneapolis and St. Paul offered the chance for bars and clubs to stay open until 4 a.m., few establishments took them up on the offer.
Some think it's not worth the hassle. Others cite the sky-high price of the $2,500 permit. And honestly, who wants to see Karl Rove spilling Jameson down his triple-chin at last call?
Linda Roberts at the Minneapolis licensing department did inform us that six businesses are applying for permits. And the very first one to apply thinks there's a big market for jiggling flesh: Schieks Palace Royale will be open late. And we couldn't be happier about it. We awarded Schieks best strip club of the Twin Cities this year and can't wait to gently drop fives in the garter belts of Royale beauties at 3:45 in the morning.
'We're very much looking forward to the RNC,' says Julian Royal of Schieks. 'Getting the permit was a no-brainer.' — Bradley Campbell
