Well I auditioned today . . .
Well I went to the club I wonted to work at and auditioned today. I had on a mini-skirt and a slinky halter top and walked in looking hot and felt confident and determined. I asked to speak to the manager and he was nice enough to talk to me. After about ten minutes in asking some general questions he asked to see what I got and get on the stage. Now I had brought with me an other outfit to audition in that I got from snaz75.com but he said it did not matter he just wanted to see me naked. I was already very nerves but for some reason that through me off a bit. The club was open and there where girls on the other stages with maybe 6 curtsies. He called them off and showed me to the center stage. I got on stage and he told me show him what I got, the first few minute or so I was ok. Attempted a few pole moves I saw off of utube, stripped off my mini skirt, I had on a great looking black thong. My audience was enjoying it and was really getting into it. But as I was about to take my top off, I don't know. I just saw everyone looking at me, and well, I felt naked. I was just over come with shock and froze, I just stood there for which felt like forever. I just panicked, refastened my top, grabbed my skirt and ran out the door straight to my car.
I just feel so embarrassed, the worst part is I for got my other outfit I had planned auditioning in. I think I lost any shot at working there, the thing is I wont to. I just got up there and lost it, I mean if I cant do just that little bit. How could I work there during a busy time, I don't know what to do now. I should just forget about it, I may not be cut out for it.:'(

Re: Well I auditioned today . . .
How many times had you been to this club prior to auditioning?

Re: Well I auditioned today . . .
Sweetheart, if this is what you want to do you have to be on your grind. Its only natural to be nervous. Hell, we all still get nervous and some ladies have been dancing for 1+ yrs. If you were doing good in the beginning then you can do it period. All you need is confidence. I'm not trying to sound blunt but its reality. It's a SC and people are GOING TO look. Thats a whole point of it.
I think you should talk to the manager and give it another shot. I'm telling you, as long as you have confidence you'll be fine. You've done it already. You just need to perfect it. But IMO, I don't think you should give it up. Choice is up to you.

Re: Well I auditioned today . . .
I have been there twice before too get a feel for it. It looked nice and felt safe. I took advice I found on this site to scout it out before hand. I actually heard about it from a girl that works there I met at my gym. She is the one that really got the idea in my head.

Re: Well I auditioned today . . .
The HARDEST part about starting to dance is the first time you have to get naked on stage! The second hardest part is doing your first private show. Every time you do it after that it will just get easier and easier.
You need to give it another shot. You started it and you need to see it through - like that guy in that master card commercial from the Olympics!!!! You can do it... all of here have gone through it and I bet you a girl or two has had the same thing happen. If you have any questions do not be afraid to ask :)
Within a few weeks it's going to be like nothing getting naked on stage and if you give it long enough you won't even care if your naked... all your gonna be thinking about is where your money's at!!!
Go give it another shot - i bet you it'll be a lot easier second time around :)

Re: Well I auditioned today . . .
AAAAAAwwwwweeeee, poor baby. *stretching arms out to hug you*
Okay, enough with the coddling now. lol
If your sure dancing is something you'd like to partake in, you will have to muster up the courage to perform in your birthday suit babe!
For me, I just kept in mind the thought of dead presidents filling my purse. Over time, you will learn to develop a thick skin and you'll be bouncing around before you know it.
Stripping isn't for the faint of heart. Go back and speak with the manager. They should understand your first time fright.
You'll be okay.

Re: Well I auditioned today . . .
This is TOTALLY normal sweetie!! Don't write this off just yet. Management WILL understand (they should).
My story is similar....I am in my first week of dancing (today will be my 3rd shift). I was hired last Friday, and went in on the following Saturday. I got dressed, asked the DJ to put my name last on stage rotation, and proceeded to get approached for dances. I FREAKED, and was not even naked yet. I told myself, " I am NOT ready for any of this", and left. So you got further than I did, on my first attempt. :-*
I told management I would come back, but I just "couldn't do this" right now.
I ended up coming back Monday during a slow shift, and I'm telling you girl - HUGE difference. When I finally did have to hit the stage, there was ONE customer in the audience (they had just opened), and I was relaxed. Ha. "Piece of cake", I thought...
When I came in that Wednesday (their busiest lunch shift), I finally had to face my fear. The place was PACKED. I barely had time to adjust, before my name was called and I was up on main stage, with the entire place staring at me..So THIS is what being a stripper was like...holy shit. I was shaking so bad, the men who came to tip were commenting on how my knees were wobbling....and my heart was racing, I wanted to run off the stage. I thought my legs would give out. It was 102 dgrees outside, and probably 85 degrees inside, and under those lights...I felt like I couldn't breathe. Anyhow - to make a long story short, I stayed on stage, shaking legs and all......it helped me to wear a huge fake smile, and I told every guy who came up there, "I'm new *laugh* can't you tell?" I was just 100% honest, "god, my legs are shaking so bad! *laugh*.
The guys were SO understanding (hey, they are human too!), and me tipped well. Maybe they felt bad for me, I don't know! To be honest, once I was done with those stages, I didn't even think about doing lap dances. I sat myself down for about an hour, and regrouped. That was more important to me. I had to pull it together, or I'd end up high-tailing it out of the club again, and I didn't want that. I ate lunch, and got my mind right. I had to beat this fear. I stayed, and I am glad I did. When it was my turn on stage an hour or two later, things were different. I was comfortable. My legs were no longer shaking, and I felt as if I had conquered my fear (panicking on stage). I watched myself in the mirror and just took it nice and slow.
I know you can do this. Trust me. I am about the most nervous person you've ever met.....If I can do this, I know you can!
It feels amazing to walk out after a shift with 100's of dolla dolla bills as well. I've gone from being a total nervous wreck, to being so excited to get back to work this afternoon! Feel free to PM me, or message me on MySpace if you want. }:D
YOU CAN DO IT!

Re: Well I auditioned today . . .
Sometimes if i'm feeling shy I use an acting tip: when you look at the audience don't look at people directly, fixate on a spot above their heads. From the stage it still looks like you are paying attention to the audience, but without having to face direct eye contact wth a stranger when naked.

Re: Well I auditioned today . . .
Don't feel bad sweetie, you just need to get used to the attention that it brings. March back in there and try again, you may just need to get used to people looking at your body. Get your confidence up, try laying out wearing a reveling bikini if you can. Thats one trick I used to do that calmed me down a bit. Or you said you have a membership a gym, you may wont to try just walking around the locker room naked. Its a calm and a safe environment, you may get a few odd looks but its not out of place. Those are just some crazy things I have done that seemed to help.

Re: Well I auditioned today . . .
I don't think dancing is for you. Yeah, it's an unpopular opinion, but think of it from the manager's point of veiw. Would YOU hire someone who ran off during the interveiw?
Have you ever been in choir, or a high school play or anything where all attention is focused on YOU? You're either an entertainer or you're not. It doesn't make you a bad person if the answer is no. Don't beat yourself up over something you aren't comfortable with! You've odviously got an open mind, but that doesn't mean you have to live out what you think should be okay. Just don't try to force yourself to do something that isn't in your nature.

Re: Well I auditioned today . . .
Try again and please keep in mind that everyone in the club has seen it all before. And if they are watching, then it's a good thing.

Re: Well I auditioned today . . .
Thank you for the support everyone. They actually called me and left me a message saying that they would like to see me again if not to just pick up my outfit that I left behind. I will think about it, maybe stop by later today or tomorrow, but not sure.

Re: Well I auditioned today . . .
that's cute. i really think you should go back and give it another shot. if they called you, it's a good sign

Re: Well I auditioned today . . .
Definitely give it one more try girl! If you don't, you may regret it later. Think of it this way....you have nothing to lose! Like I said in my previous post, you made it further than I did. I left on my first day, without getting naked or even getting on stage. Talk about looking like someone who wasn't cut out for it.....But they were very happy to see me come back and try again. Plus, they called you. Good sign!
Will you keep us updated? :)

Re: Well I auditioned today . . .
Aw man if they called you then that's a god sign.
Go back in and have fun!! And if you are scared then just smile. Picture everyone ELSE in THEIR underwear!! Really, they have seen it all before. Nothing for you to worry about.

Re: Well I auditioned today . . .
I decided to head back in yesterday afternoon, if anything to pick up my outfit I left behind. This time I ran into the club owner, he was really nice. We went back to his office were he put my outfit, so no one would take it; looking back at it I think he planned it that way. He wanted apologize for the way my audition went the other day and to know if there was anything wrong on the clubs part. I told him no, that it was my nerves getting to me. He told not to worry about that, how he has never really seen a girl that was not nerves the first time.
Well long story short, ten minutes later I find myself on a smaller stage to the side in my outfit . One of the other dancers was kind enough to let me borrow her 5inch white heels. When I first started to dance the only person watching me was the owner. Which made me far more comfortable this time. After about a minute the DJ made a call over the speakers to single me out from the other dancers. It seemed like the whole crowed, maybe about 2 dozen, all looked my way at the same time. I almost lost it right there again, more so when I looked at the owner. He was signaling for me to take my top off. I turned my back to them took a deep breath, thinking to myself what the hell did I get myself into again. Thats when I told myself 'I wont to do this' and the support some of you gave me, thank you so much. I untied the front of my top, let it slid off my shoulders and spun around . . . I start Friday ;D.
I am so excited now and so glad I went back. The great thing is I can work the two shifts I wanted Friday and Saturday. Also they do contract work I think is how he explained it for their peep show they have. Where I can go in anytime I really wont and work per hour, think 10 or 20 bucks. That does not sound to bad, I think. I am so happy, this is really close to what I wonted to get out of it.

Re: Well I auditioned today . . .
Yay! Congrats. It will get easier and easier. Next tine you get nervous, just tell yourself "Fuck it, I did it once, I can do it again."
One day, you'll even feel bored onstage. But don't let anyone know it!! ;)

Re: Well I auditioned today . . .
And you'll have such a cute "how I got started" story.

Re: Well I auditioned today . . .
Yaaah! :) Funny how you thought of the support from SW when you were untying your top and turning around. I thought of the all the things the ladies here had told me too, when I was having anxiety on stage during my 2nd shift!

Re: Well I auditioned today . . .
Congratulations on making it through!!
You're prob sick of hearing it by now, but it will get easier!
When there's a lot of people focusing on you and you get nervous- try to single out someone in the group and focuse on that person- dance just for that person. Switch up the person every little bit and you'll feel calmer and the crowd will be fine!
Time for you to make some $$$!!!

Re: Well I auditioned today . . .
Is it normal to be asked to get naked in private for management?
