Cops at Work - kinda long, just a weird story
K, so first of all, there are 2 things that people should know: (1) I have this weird fear of guns (like, I think worse than the norm...whatever that is) and (2) I don't trust people...I lied...(3) I watch too much crime TV.
Anyhow, so tonight I go to give a lapdance to this guy and I feel something hard on the front of him. No, not his penis. Then I put my hand there, and I give him a look like, "WTF?" He doesn't say anything at first, but then tells me he's a cop and it's okay. Um....yeah, this is after he tells me he's from St. Thomas and he's just visiting a friend. Anyhow, I say in a really ditzy voice, "Like, didn't the metal detector thingiiiiiieeeeee go off when you came in?!?!" And he said no, and that he knew alotta people at the club. That sent off another weird signal to me...because he had told me it was only his 2nd time there, and that he hadn't been there in 4 months. Possible, but weird sounding.
When I finished the dance, I walked him back to his place where his friend was sitting, and made a ditzy joke about his friend trying to shoot me...and not with his real gun. I talked to them a little longer to make it seem like I wasn't trying to rush off and rat them out (even though I was curious if the one was lying). They then kept asking me how much I made per night and where I keep my money. Um...WTF? Great, now I have a guy with a gun asking how much I make and where I keep the $$$.
Anyways, it did turn out he was a cop, but I still thought it was weird that he kept his gun in the front of his pants instead of in the back or in a holster on the side, knowing he was going to get a lapdance!! He also had this odd twitch thing goin on that I didn't notice till I started the dance.
Couple all of that with the fact that at THIS SAME CLUB the first day that I worked, a guy impersonated a cop and said that I was under arrest....and yeah, I was sorta kinda freaked out.
That's all

thats so weird. I would avoid cops. I think its putting a dancer at risk to have a gun like that especially for a lapdance. I hate guns too. Did you get his badge number? Always look for a badge number or ask for a card. Cops must present these to you when you ask for them. :)

that's incredibly unusual... how did you know he was a cop?

A strip club is a great place for them to abuse their authority.

^ I know, right.
I didn't know he was a cop. I didn't trust him. But...to make a long story short, I actually told someone I know from on here what was going on. I didn't want him to see me talking to the mngr, so she went down for me, to tell the mngr that someone was there with a gun. The mngr then confirmed that he was, indeed, a cop.

Strange that he would have the gun in the front of his pants. That's not normal. (Especially when he knew he was going to get a dance). Most off-duty cops will have their gun in the back of their pants, or in a proper holster. I wouldn't feel comfortable dancing for a cop either (Hubby is a cop - and if it was someone on his department, I'd be so embarrassed!).
The whole thing just sounds very weird!

What are the gun laws in your state? Some states you can't carry a gun into a bar/restaurant, any place with alcohol, even if you're an off duty officer.
I had a weirdo cop that used to come see me and he came in with his gun one time. Told me to be careful while I gave him a LD. Asked my manager about it and he said he couldn't have it in the bar. Luckily he never brought it back in after that one time.

The Law Enforcement Officer's Safety Act permits any law enforcement officer to carry a gun anywhere in the United States, at any time.
The LEOSA overrides state and local laws. The only restriction are certain federal buildings.

I did not know that. I'd always been told they couldn't carry. Good to know.

Do you know if he was on-duty or off-duty?
-
Re: Cops at Work - kinda long, just a weird story
I'm pretty sure he was off duty. I don't know very much about the details of his job, but I knew he said he lived in St. Thomas and was visiting his friend, who was a Baltimore City cop, and that he, too, was a cop, who used to work in Bmore City then volunteered to travel to St. Thomas to work. Like I said, I don't know too much about the rules of, erm, gun carrying and all, but it seemed weird that if he was now a cop in St. Thomas, that he would be carrying his gun in Baltimore...unless he had something going on here, too.
Also, he was drinking. Though, I read somewhere on here that undercover cops are allowed to drink...
Yeah, the gun in the front part is weird, especially knowing that I'd feel it.

There may come a time when you are thankful that an off-duty cop had his gun on him.
Take for example, the Trolley Square shooting. One off-duty cop with one gun was able to stop the killing long enough for the on-duty officers to arrive on scene and dispatch the murderer.
What a douchebag! :sarcastic

Yeah, but it wasn't in the front of his pants where some chick was going to put her butt on it, no doubt. The OP's custie was being douchey.

I agree with THAT 100%! 8)
The fact that he had it stuck in the front of his pants would make me second-guess him even being a real cop. Very unprofessional.

Mehh, I dunno. My bf is a cop and I feel better that he doesn't carry one when he is *not* working.
